I've recently had a problem with my rearstat which resulted in my battery going flat. I've had the rearstat replaced but now I can't open the car with my key fob. Does anyone know what the solution is please? Read more
Hi all,
Well I had intended to change both cars in the next year, but swmbo has decreed that spare money must be spent on the house. So what was going to be a reliable petrol MPV for her and an economical but fun commuter for me now has to serve both of our purposes.... Read more
How many manufacturers offer a sound system with full ipod connectivity? That is, the ipod screen or tracks shown on a car screen and full remote control from the steering wheel audio controls. Read more
I like the look of the new model and it seems good value. Can anyone here offer some opinions or advice?

Highly recommend them, I have a C3 Picasso Exclusive with the 1.6Hdi engine, it has just covered 18000 km's in 11 months, I regularly achieve 58mpg with mixed motoring here in Spain. This is true mixed motoring since we live in the hills (locals call them mountains!) and do not drive on the flat all the time. Build quality is excellent to date with no problems, my one criticism is the 17" wheels with low profile tyres that make speed humps a trifle hard, but I could not get the 110 engine here with the smaller wheels. The dealers here are imaginative, offering both trade in and scrappage to seal the deal. My one concern is the FAP system, but to date no problems.
Its been a few years since I've bought a BMW, mainly due to the horrific and ugly designs (think X6 etc) they have been churning out over the last 5 years or so, but I have to say I could be tempted back by one of these:

Can anyone tell me, does the A4 diesel cabriolet have a cam belt that needs changing at 60,000 miles?
I test drove one today and when I asked if the cam belt had been changed the guy said that they don't have cam belts, but a cam chain which will last forever.... Read more
The 2005 > BDW 2.393 ltr petol Audi engine has timing chains located at the rear of the engine. That is why the OP needs to declare the engine code. Regards Peter
To try to keep a long story short!
Recently bought a 5 year old Daihatsu Charade with 25K miles. The service record was fully stamped up and the dealer assured me it had been well looked after etc etc by a local owner and fully serviced by a local, reliable, garage.
When I got it home I noticed the service schedule stated the cam belt should be changed at 60K or 5 years so it should have been changed at this years service. I checked via with the selling garage and it hadn't been. I think he should do it; needless to say he doesn't! His argument is that it is an 'optional' service item and upto the owner. I argue that despite the service stamp, it had not been fully serviced to the manufacturers schedule and therefore was not as described by implication. (I do not believe the dealer intentionally mislead me). I do feel I paid (slightly) over the top for the car but was 'sold' on the reliability of a small dealer and full 6 month warranty but I don't feel like spending more now.
Have I got a case against the dealer who sold me the car. Indeed should I worry as the car has only done 25K and cambelts don't deteriorate with age (his argument, not mine). My last conversation with him resulted in the manager (owner) agreeing to go halves; on the one hand I don't feel I should, on the other hand I don't want the hassle of small claims court! Should I just forget it and renew the belt in a couple of years or so (mileage will be low)?
Many thanks for any opinions or advice.

Just read about a fully integrated system that is to be offered by BMW. It displays the iPod screen on the cars information screen as well as all the normal remote control functions.
