Saw some interesting news for those of us who have had issues with Colt Car Company, the official UK importers.

Mitsubishi have taken full control of them. It was run by a father & son, the father has retired and the son is no longer involved in the business.

Let's hope that means a more professional approach and response in the future. Read more

Mitsubishi's are good cars - I could ever understand why didn't sell more, though I think the small number of dealers didn't help. You only have to look at the number of cars that Hyundai and Kia seem to be shifting though, to see that Mitsubishi could easily have bee picking up those customers.

I seem to have either lost or thrown out the paper part to my photocard licence.

Do I actually need the paper part for anything? Read more

....A google for "driving licence holder" came up with loads. tinyurl.com/43sktv....

And to think it's snails that are meant to be slow:)

I've now ordered said cover from an ebay shop at a very reasonable £2.99 including postage.

Still say you don't see them in gift shops though...grumble...moan...chunter...etc.

Saints best kept secret

Good morning all,
I had a major problem last night. Iwas driving back from Legoland to Southampton and I started hearing a "suction noise" while accelerating? Only when accelerating.
Monitored warning lights, temperature etc but everything here seemed to be ok.
Did seem to lose power but thought I'd just be very careful and stick to 60mph.
Didn't realise until I got to M27 slip road that I had NO BRAKES! Pedal wouldn't move and brkaes as good as useless. Very scary and somehow we got home (crawling and being extremely careful!)
Started car this morning and its idling is very rough which is new.
I have checked the brake fluid reservoir which is ok and the hose on this and the black cylinder behing it seem to be connected?
Can anyone give me any advice on what it could be and a possible fix?
Thanks to all for reading and sorry fo long post just wanted to try and cover everything.

I did think that might be the answer!
Just didn't fancy having to get it towed to the garage as I can't drive it there.
I know an ex mechanic but didn't really want to bother him, guess I'll need some beer money for him!
Thanks once again for all your help and advice, I really appreciate it.
All the best.
Chris.

Travelling to Blackpool (from Cambridgeshire)for the weekend at the end of this month. Need a hotel with parking near to The Winter Gardens. Blackpool hotels seem a minefield when looking on review sites so any personal recomendations appreciated. We do not want to get tied up with drunken stag nights etc!

Yep thanks Rover25. Something I forgot that's worth mentioning to help anyone thinking of staying there....

It really is a long way from the central seafront. Our destination of the Winter Gardens was just behind the Tower and that was an £8.20 taxi ride each way from The Big Blue. In fact over the weekend we spent almost £50 on taxis!!

Went past a house fronting the A1. Outside on a driveway are a 3 year old BMW M3 convertible and a 4 year old 3 series coupe , I think also an M3

The house is peeling, windows are rotten and there are pieces of cardboard and newspaper on the windows instead of curtains ..

Ridiculous . Anybody with a credit history can fake almost any car - but you can't fake a house. Can also see a brand new Range Rover outside a really decrepit property not too far away . Read more

I dunno mm, it would be amusing to see someone looking puzzled and disgusted every time they passed your house, especially if you knew what they were puzzled and disgusted about.

Personally if there's one thing I can't stand it's what the papers call a '£5m mansion' in some street full of spivs off Hampstead Lane - no doubt they have them in the more boring areas of Manchester and the Wirral too - with new well-polished expensive cars parked on its funny-coloured gravel behind its gilded repro-of-repro pastiche baroque railings at the bottom of its brand-new faux-marble steps in front of its illegally-imported weird-coloured scraping-the-bottom-of-the-barrel Tibetan mahogany front door and ghastly carriage lamps... but chacun a son gout as they say...

Things that look a bit anomalous and out of place are far more interesting than boring estate-agent-ad rubbish...

Hope you are well by the way.

Someone we know has a 2005 Jazz Sport CVT that's done 15,000 miles. Should be about £7000, according to What Car.

Seller is prepared to give us the car for what the dealer offers when he p/x's for new Jazz in January.

I really like that Hyundai i10 and I'm waiting for the 1.2 to come into our local showroom to test drive it.

Dad came with me yesterday, as we wondered if there were any in the showroom on the off chance but there weren't.

He thought the i10 looked like a Noddy car! "Why are you thinking of buying something like that!" was the cry!

Style over substance! He's just like Jeremy Clarkson!

He's a bit upset that I've dissed this Jazz but I haven't really. Just giving myself another option.

I also had a Yaris 1.3 auto in mind but dealer wanted too much for it.

£7k for an 05 Jazz is far too much by the way.

I have an 06 Jazz and it really is a brilliant all rounder. Can take 4 adults and all their stuff hundreds of miles without any problems. It can potter round town for fun. Sips petrol.

A friend of mine in California has just bought one of these with a 2.5 litre inline five 170 bhp. Says the engineis absolutely fantastic. I have checked it out on Youtube and it does indeed sound good, just like an old ur quattro, why don't we get this engine? Read more

I stand corrected. I thought the US version would have had the same V5 as the European version.

and fluctuating revs @ idle

can anyone help?

van seems to be really sluggish and not a smooth power flow at higher revs mainly in 3rd gear. sometimes at idle the revs fluctuate.

i removed the vacuum pipe going into the egr valve solenoid on top of the fuel pump
then drove it around the block and there were no difference whatsoever.
does the mean the egr valve has gone? by the way the vacuum pump is working fine as it is hissing really loud when pipe is unplugged.

someone please help
