Is Mercedes-Benz likely to produce a small "crossover vehicle" to rival the BMW X1?

Mercedes-Benz does not appear to be interested in small "crossover vehicles" like the BMW X1. Do you know of anything in the immediate future? I have a current 2008 W204 C-Class, and wonder if you know when the new one is coming out? I am interested in this because, at 83, I may not have time on my hands to wait and might consider getting the current ‘facelift’ model as my last purchase. I tried an X1 last week, but found it did not have a Hill Start Assist Feature. My present C-Class automatic has this feature, which is wonderful when towing a caravan in Scotland and also the Alps. Interestingly, the 3 Series does have this feature.
Mercedes does offer a smaller SUV called the GLK but doesn't make it in RHD: The next C-Class can’t be too far away. But you could stay ahead of the game with the new B-Class that will probably suit your needs better than either the GLK or the C-Class:
