Looking at the new sandero/stepway/logan model info and it looks like Dacia are stopping making Diesels available... looks like they have the run off stock of the ones they already had

Such a shame as the diesel is the best engine of the bunch... Read more

I have just been idly browsing the Dacia configurator for the Duster, which is very much available with diesel still. However, it doesn't seem to be available with automatic (dual clutch) transmission any more. Which I find odd. And disappointing.

I have front and rear dash cams that have proved on 2 previous occasions that accidents that I was involved in weren't my fault.

Close to where I live there is a width restriction for cars but buses can go through the central part that is marked buses only. The lane marking indicate that buses give way to cars, not that they do.... Read more

To put the matter on the record, you could send the recording to the local police irrespective of the insurance position.

Hi everyone hope everybody is well,

So I bought a used car from Arnold Clark a wee Ford Fiesta zetec s 2010 after taking it home I ran a car check app, which I should of done beforehand, and it states on its first mot 200.000 odd miles had been added then the following mot they disappeared when I bought it it was 37000 miles, is that grounds for a refund? before I call them has any1 got any advice on this matter. Yeah a hope it was the thing i dont get is why when it was rectified they didn’t take 210,000 they deducted 205,896

Because the car had done 4,104 miles in the year since the previous MoT.

In practice there was no deducting at at - all they did was to record the mileage accurately on the next MoT.

Can anybody tell me why it seems impossible to locate a new driver door lock actuator for the above car, please? Even used ones specifically for the front right door seem few and far between. Is this a common fault with Audi/just my model, thus in such high demand spares are rare or did they stop manufacturing them that long ago?! I would love to open my driver door without climbing over the passenger seat! Read more

I had a letter this weekend stating my Mazda 6 is to be recalled for the faulty airbag.
Is there any way of compensation?

This could be a bit of a long post but i will try to keep it as brief as i can.

A couple of weeks ago my beloved Mazda 3 1.6ts diesel...died on the motorway It was towed to a local independent garage, where £800 later the turbo was replaced, the dpf was filled with fluid and regenerated and oil + oil filter replaced.

It ran ok after that for about 2 days... then the dreaded limp mode began.. with MIL light on and an odd amber jagged circle with ! in the middle (which i can't seem to find when googling Mazda warning lights)

The slug car went back to the garage to be checked, they plugged the diagnostic in again and the problem showing was the dreaded DPF (code P242F)... Read more

they said the car had died because the pipe to the turbo was blocked..and the oil wasnt getting to the turbo.. therefore needed replacing??

Hi,

My astra has developed a strange fault in which upon turning the key ignition 2 clicks the dash lights don't come on no fuel pump noise or anything no ignition whatsoever. Radio, horn and front lights don't work, rear lights work and so does the electronic boot unlock button and interior lights. Car does not start no crank nothing. From what I can tell the front fuse box isn't powering anything but the rear fuse box is (boot, inside lights etc).... Read more

I'm having the same issue with my astra h. The car has a new battery has power in the car. The rear lights work. On the instrument clock it shows my milage and that the door lights open but nothing else. I've got a power probe and on the red wire under the steering column I've forced a live through it and the key on the second turn lights up. Where do I look now where is the fuse to check if its blown.

Yes, I once moved my wife's i10 a few feet when my brain was temporarily disengaged and it (the car, not my brain) would not start next day. IIRC we got the recovery man out and he soon sorted out the problem but it was a lesson learnt!
