Hi, I had my exhaust replaced in 2016 as it was blowing/noisy. After a few months it started rattling, I took it back and the garage said a bracket had come loose so he fixed it, been fine then up until this week when its started blowing again. It sounds like its got a hole in it. The garage is a one man with an apprentice looking lad. Im sure it should last longer than it has, and as Im a female/clearly not a car expert Im worried Ill be stitched up a bit. It cost quite a lot to get changed and I expected it to last a long time!! I tried a Tivolli when they had an offer of a free trail in exchange for £10 M&S voucher. This never arrived. I didn't enjoy driving the Tivolli. Inside it was OK and it looked quite funky but the handling and general driving experience wasn't very pleasant.
A colleague has a duster it's a nice place to sit and looks quite nice. He used to have a diesel but swapped for petrol one. Says the diesel head now power but petrol I've it's OK if you give it some beans.
Read moreThe car was first registered March 2014 I bought the car December 2014 with a free 4+ servicing, the first service was undertaken October 2015 then subsequent years Oct 2016 Oct 2017. This year Oct 2018 would be the last service. Renault have decided that the free servicing should start from first registered march 2014 which is 9 months after I bought the vehicle. Renaults 4+ free service plan states during your first 4 years of ownership hence 4 years service from Dec 2014 to Oct 2018. They refuse to acknowledge that I bought the car in Dec 2014 and say the service starts from first registered March 2014. How can they issue a free service package 9 months before I bought the car? Are they right?
What no reply from MCB100, I thought with your knowledge there would have been a comment.
Hi all, first time on these forums I am after some advice. My wife was hit from back by a driver yesterday. At traffic lights in a city she wasn’t familiar with. Other driver who had a child in front seat apppologised said her “brakes must have failed or something “. My wife attempted to get further details but was very shaken. The other driver said they needed to get to the side of road (middle lane of a three lane main road in rush hour). She then got in her car u turned and drove off. My wife got a registration and car make and colour only. My wife could not locate her. The wife’s car has a few grands worth of damage bumper parking sensors etc. The third part car was well crunched and look almost written off.
I checked the vehicle taxed no MOT.
Wife phoned police got a road traffic incident number. said they put a report out to look for them.
As expected our insurance company said vehicle has no current insurance.
We will be liable for our excess and it will go as a claim against us should the third party not be traced.
We have submitted a claim to MIB and filled in a V888 for DBLA.
I don’t have any faith in insurance company or police pushing for this, meaning we are stuck with a excess we won’t get back and a unresolved claim against us. Is there anything else we can do? Report it as a crime instead of a road traffic incident?

Yep wife won’t let go of these issues. Offered a paltry sum for inconvenience and customer care. Not accepted it. Get the motor fixed and see if we want to proceed further.

Driving around yesterday and when attempting to accelerate there was no response from the pedal, the pedal felt as if it had no resistance and the engine never responded. Had to pull over and call for a recovery as not sensible to drive on the clutch alone. Friends have said it sound like my accelerator cable has gone, its awaiting a spot in the garage to be looked at but that's not going to be until next week anyone have an idea of the potential issue and repair cost roughly. Advice appreciated. The car is seven years old and done about 90,000 miles if this helps. Read more

I love my Mini but the paint is so brittle and delicate that after every long drive I’m finding dents, scratches and chips.
The main dealer and head office do not want to know.
My first drive home 4 miles and my bonnet was chipped.
My old E39 BMW 530i from new and 120,000 miles later still looked dashing.
My mini is over a year old and looks wrecked.
Mini dealer said it was bad luck and had the minimal amount of paint.
I’m tempting to get the repairs and then a full wrap.
I love my car but wish I bought something else if the paint work is that shoddy.

Paint isn’t galvanised, metal is.
Car bodies are not galvanised, they are simply dipped in zinc rich paint....

Good garage, interested in customers wellbeing and their opinion.
French media is reporting that new "standardised" fuel labelling is coming in as from next week (12 October) - I haven't seen any reference to this in British media, but the legislation is said to be Europe-wide (not just EU states) so presumably including UK whether Brexit or not.
Instead of “Unleaded” and “Diesel”, pumps will be labelled with standardised letters and numbers, corresponding to the type of fuel, and the amount of biofuel it contains (E5/E10 for petrol; B7/B10 for diesel).... Read more
You had better scrap it then! Only B7 or B10 will be available.
Nice!...
Mine was a £1000 job on a Mercedes C220 12 years ago, some electric system went wrong. Last nasty was £500 odd for an indicator multi switch on my SLK, years ago a clever mechanic would have fixed the problem...washer part of the switch...but now it's 'can't fix it'...needs a new one. Read more

Dual mass flywheel, clutch, M32 gearbox and the DPF all found to be duff after a run back from Devon. Clutch rattling, gearbox crunching in every gear (no ..... Not the clutch.... Other m32 problems/symptoms also present) . A regenn every tank full destroying the fuel consumption. Wouldn't do any better than 42/45mpg when previously 50+ was normal. ...

Non genuine exhaust systems never fit properly. In fact it's always a lottery as to how good or bad they'll be. I would always fit a genuine system.
