Unlike every other manufacturer Kia does not have a centralised computerised service record. They do have a centralised record of recalls (DVLA and campaign). I would assume you always take your car to the same dealer thus your records are on their system. take it to another dealer and they would require proofbefore work was done....

There are many parameters on a car for the s/s system to function correctly. Engine temp,load,ac requirements are just a few. Could even be a suspect battery,especially if it is the original.

When I opted out of the company car scheme, I was a named driver on my wife's Aviva policy. They did me a deal where they gave me a discount equivalent to maximum NCD.
If I left at the end of year 1, they'd provide a letter confirming 1 years NCD...

Would suggest it might be the turbo or a leaking turbo pipe, as you say " it does go a little 'louder' when accelerating ".
You could try getting someone to boot the accelerator while you have the bonnet open & see if you can trace the noise, but keep clear of rotating parts in the engine bay.
Under the driver's seat I notice there is a small black fuse box or connector on the end of a phone cord type of wire. What is it? Read more
