Hi.
Hoping someone can offer some advice. My partner and I need a car. We would like an mpv which can carry 3 passengers comfortable in the back. We have two children so the car needs to fit two kids seats plus an adult between them. We will mainly be using it for motorway and longish journeys so won't be used for a daily commute. It's mainly for going away at weekends.... Read more
A Mondeo will be wider across the rear seats than a Picasso or Scenic, so there is no drawback in terms of space, only in versatility. As the MPV's have individual seats, each can be folded or removed seperately, whereas the Mondeo has a standard 60/40 split. I can well understand the appeal of the higher seating portion, but given your very small budget and having your family in there, surely safety and reliability should be the priority. Your partner will get used to the car, and it will have reversing sensors.
Hey

Thank goodness we have at last an Emporers new clothes situation from one of the worlds leading companies in alternative power trains.
One element that seems to have been overlooked is the need for a high amperage outlet in every house to cope with a quick charge for EVs and the infrastructure may not be there. Read more
Here’s one example: www.cfr.org/blog/do-gasoline-based-cars-really-use...o And bear in mind that the amount of energy required to generate that x kWh that goes into the battery is much more than x due to transmission losses. Hence your state sent was nonsense. At present a significant amount of the electricity stored in a car battery is used to transport the battery! If batteries become significantly more efficient, then dodgems makes that become competitive.
And a significant amount of the fuel stored in the tank of a petrol or diesel car is used in transporting the engine, transmission, cooling system, exhaust system and fuel system.
Transmission losses in the national power distribution network are not great - up to about 12%, apparently....

Hi guys, ok some time ago I was involved in a motor accident, I sustained minor injuries wich in time became worse, Long story short I claimed for whiplash and was advised to attend physio, over time I had 8 sessions. Time passed and eventually the insurance company admitted liability and I was offered £2200 wich I was fairly happy with, Three weeks later I received a payment for £1100 , I was somewhat confused. They gave me the following rundown, £550 for their 25% fee, £485 for physio, and £65 for other charges,. I was under the impression the physio was free and I’m really confused as to wether I’ve been took for a ride . Let’s know what you think, before I decide what to do next. Thankyou so much. Read more

Who's this woman called Karen, she is so funny it's time she was silenced to save us all from dieing of laughter.
I know this possibly should have been posted in the new Berlingo thread which has resurfaced, but as that seems to have gone slightly off topic and because it was from February originally, i thought i'd start a new one.
I love this type of car, we had one back in 2003, and what a brilliant no nonsense family car for those unconcerned with image or what others think.... Read more
Seem to remember that the Multipla was Top Gear mags car of the year on more than one occasion.
Noticed a few 'Car Wash by hand' are starting to use Snow Foam in place of the old method with detergent and sponge.
Although the foam will save on the scratches and swirls from a sponge, but will clean as well.... Read more
