Agreed, assuming this is one, a Diesel specialist or a very good MB indy ASAP, this is not a job for a your average garage, nor, unless your pockets are bottomless is it a job for the main dealer either.

You do not want to leave Diesel running problems because massive damage can result.

I wrote earlier in the year about having been diagnosed with wet macular degeneration, and that i was at the time nervous about the injections into the eyeball.

Ten months on, not only has the blood vessels stopped leaking but vision in the affected eye has inproved to the point where I can read the bottom line on the chart with that eye, which is a real improvement for me.... Read more

I like the one about water going down the plughole anti clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere, and clockwise in the Southern. Or maybe the other way round.

A poor reason for reluctance to check tyre pressures is the risk of letting too much air out of the tyre and this video does harm by grossly exaggerating the likely effects and not showing how easy correction would be.

Hi, hardway,

Just for info, I have been fettling large multi-engine turbine helicopters ( mostly French Super Puma family) for the last 40 odd year's and as such have a fair old knowledge BUT I'm, not a motor mechanic, infinitely more difficult nowadays no matter which engineers of the aviation type would argue....

So I am a new driver, and I rushed into buying a car off someone from gumtree. I purchased the car and signed the v5. But after discovering how many faults there were with the car after taking it home I decided to get a refund and off course I didn’t get all my money back but I taxed the car yesterday under my name and signed the new owner section of the v5. As I don’t have the car anymore I am worried if the people that i bought the car from so bad stuff with the car. Will it affect me or my license? I’m just worried. Read more

Afternoon all,

My 11plate Mondeo 1.6tdci Econetic suddenly came up with engine malfunction on the motorway yesterday. I lost power and it felt like my turbo had just been switched off. I dont think it was limp mode as I was able to do 40 or 50mph and the car still accelerated albeit very slowly.... Read more

Hi, did you ever find out what the issue was? I’m having the same problem except I’m getting a U0140 code instead of the injectors.

Hi all hoping somebody may be able to assist.

I am in possession of a 2005 model year mercedes c180 estate with an inoperative nsf door locking motor/solenoid. as the door will not unlock Im unable to remove the door card as it is enclosed within the door slam, cutting the card will not get me very far as the door is sealed behind it with a steel plate rivetted in place. id have to cut through both! a mess i dont fancy making.additionally there is a guard over the locking mechanism preventing access from above through the drop glass aperture. so my question is to anybody with personal experience of this fault on this model if youve successfully opened the door id love to hear how!... Thankyou for reply, I did indeed cycle the central locking repeatedly in hopes of freeing off the door lock but alas, the door remained deadlocked. So just in case this can help another poor soul with this issue heres how i did it.

Remove glovebox, pull ns dash end trim through cavity then removed door control unit cover trim through the same aperture, detatch door card along upper edge, detatch plastic door glass aperture surround, pull out door aperture weather strip. using a long prybar down the rearmost edge of doorcard, pry off, the door card took the abuse very well sustaining only light scuffs on rear edge. remove card, drill out rivets on metal door support plate that holds window reg in place remove drop glass, extract metal panel. pry off door lock cover and release door mechanism with a screwdriver.

Alright friends - bet this hasn't been asked before - alright, I did search first, so I am pretty sure it hasn't.

Will the boot shelf in the CR-V support a 16kg dog? And am I crazy for thinking the space underneath the shelf would be ideal for putting a couple of suitcases so that we when we go away for the weekend we have room for the dog and our luggage in the boot?... Read more

I don't know the CR-V, but I wouldn't risk anything weighing 16kg on a rear parcel shelf, especially one able to move about on its own. The shelf is bound to sag and bounce as you travel, even if reinforced, which a dog may well dislike. The problem of emergencies would be the decider.
