Just had a minor accident this morning. Which wasn't my fault. Other driver gave details and owned up straight away.
My insurer referred me on to a "Credit Hire Company" who'll give me a temporary car, pay for the repair and chase other guys insurance company (Tesco insurance) for payment.... Read more
Had bad experience with credit hire company, dragged things out 3 years ended up going to court because they failed to arrange a settlement with the other party who admitted causing the accident but could not agree on payout, 2 complaints to finicial obmusban, stupid blantent lieing (against what was said in court), second visit to court where hire company was dragged across the ashes and had to pay their own 3 years of car hire fees for proven delay tactics. I sued the hire company for inconvience and time lost as a result of their incompetance, I received a payout under NDA before a third visit to court.
I personally would avoid third parties and go direct where possible.
Whilst I would like to pretend I don't know any of the people who made this, I unfortnately do... However, I thought I would share it with you guys, as they launched the other day and it has made me chuckle reading there slightly less serious reviews of student cars.
You can find it here:... Read more
Although I am just pixels on your screen, and you don't know me from Adam. I do know one of the people who helped make it and it was all done on Wix (the website builder), I don't know if that helps with your piece of mind!

The manual lock is seized too and all attempts to free it with WD have failed.
Can't use the car for holidays until I get it fixed .

Thanks Eleciedoc , as usual brilliant advice.
I bought a used lock mechanism on its own before reading your post and realising the hesitance could be down to the actuator.
And I have been unable to find a replacement lock assembly probably because the key is specific to the car.
Grateful for your advice on how to proceed or do I revert to your earlier recommendation to soak the whole assembly .
Essentially the lock will work first time when the weather is cool, or the sun is not on the boot

Nobody on this forum can do V codes,so either part up with your £30,or try flea-bay .
