In the past few days have noticed more of the above.
1. Waiting in a line of traffic for car directly in front of me to turn right. 1st car behind me undertakes to get in front of him. 2nd car behind me then undertakes to get 1 car ahead on a keep clear just before traffic lights. ????... Read more
Thanks focussed that's a useful link to keep up to date and revise - now on my favourites.
I'm glad somebody noticed it!...
My handbrake keeps going hard to pull up, and then sometimes goes loose, although it seems to hold OK. Read more

Could i suggest if you know on your odometer roughly when you're down to 1/4 tank that you fill up on mileage basis and therefore never actually run out.
Its something those of us that have LPG conversions do, the tank gauges of which are more or less useless, so we get used to zeroing the odo trip meter when we fill up and make allowances for the type of running we've done to how much gas we will have left, after a couple of times it becomes second nature.
I am wondering whether to report a 20 year old Land Rover which has for some time been parked, unused, nearby on our public road. It is currently taxed for some months to come, but has no MOT(MOT History website says "no details match").
If this vehicle is still "in army service"-is there a requirement for it to have an MOT?... Read more
In my opinion there are many more cars with MOT's that are in a dangerous condition than some that for legitimate reasons have an expired MOT.
MOT test should ensure all lights, head, tail, brake, indicator are in working order. Just count how many vehicles (presumably with valid MOTs) fail in this respect. This includes taxis, buses and occasional cars done with the tasteful blue and yellow checkerboard scheme.
Note: I don't expect working indicators on BMWs or Audis, they must have an exemption ...
Please could one of the wonderful moderators get something done about this Kia advert at the top of all the Forum pages. While I understand that advertising is necessary. Please could it not keep covering the top 2 or 3 lines of the posts and topics. I can't even find a way to close this oversized pop up window it has :( Read more
for mobile devices the best solution would be to have an HJ app, this works well for the DM
My wife is in the market for a new car. She's looked at a VW Golf, a Volvo V40 and today she test drove an Auris from Listers in Nuneaton.
The sales guy who shall remain nameless for now was polite to start off with, and my wife had a drive for about 15 minutes or so. On returning to the dealership we talked about a part exchange and got a quote for her car. ... Read more
We have bought two new Corollas and two used Yaris' (cash each time) from our local Toyota dealer, sales people always courteous, fair p/ex prices, no pressure for finance, Gap insurance or other extras.
When I p/xed the last Corolla for an i30 at the Hyundai dealer the deal was also done in a very professional way, cost to change was just what I asked for, I'd recommend them too as a good outfit to deal with....
I took my old friend with the chevrolet aveo along to our local Kia dealer to enquire about a venga. In 3 years he has done the princely total of about 15000 miles.
Salesman, all of 2 weeks in the job insisted that a diesel would be perfect!... Read more
Now sorted, but slightly amused..
1st Kia dealer offered £5500 against any kia in stock, new or pre-reg or used, but no suitable car there. (wanted me to buy a diesel which I didn't want)...
hi all, i need to change a rear wheel bearing, i have bought a new hub.
I can get everything off except the old hub, there are 4 bolts to the rear, where the driveshaft goes in (RWD). I can't seem to get a 17mm socket back there, let alone get the space for a wrench. It seems the driveshaft itself is in the way.... Read more
A work colleague of mine has just informed me that whilst attempting to fix his non functioning radio he has managed to generate a dash full or warning lights.
The problem started with the radio suddenly not working a few days ago. We were discussing this in the office earlier this week and I suggested that as a place to start he could check the fuses to see if one had blown.... Read more
UPDATE: - local indie had to be called out as car wouldn't start. Managed to start it and took it to his workshop where the codes were reset and fuse that had blown (causing the original issue of radio not working) was replaced.
Wasn't too expensive in the end - considering the work involved (he also replaced blown side light bulbs at the same time).
