I'm looking to sell my 10y old audi a3 to an independent dealer as i dont have the time do it privately. I dont want to use webuyanycar.com and dont want to part-exchange. Does anyone know of a trustworthy independent dealer willing to buy my car off me? Preferably in the London area. Read more

The seat has not been officially recalled but Nuna is offering refunds to customers who wish to return the seat. The official statement from Nuna is:
"We would reiterate that the Nuna REBL meets and exceeds all the relevant UK government safety standards. The German Automobile Club, ADAC, has performed an extreme test, which is not recognised by the UK Department of Transport, or any other standard the industry is asked to comply with. We will not be conducting a product recall unless the recognised relevant national authorities deem the seat is unsafe.
However, ultimately, what matters is our customers’ peace of mind – therefore, we are offering full refunds to any customer that does not feel that the rigorous UK government standards are sufficient. A refund can be obtained by contacting our customer service team Monday through Friday on 0800 952 0061 between the hours of 9am to 5pm or emailing us directly at infouk@nuna.eu, or by contacting your retailer."

16 years old and 87k on the clock = very low mileage so I'm guessing it does a lot of short journeys. N'est pas?
in that case I'd suspect an exhaust box rotted out internally and collapsed. the water vapour in the exhaust condenses in the cold system and absorbs gases to produce acid which rots the internals. This is one reason regular long journeys are good - warms up the entire system and dries it out before it's park up....
The car has done 149,00 and returns around 50 mpg on a run provided I do not go much over 60mph. For the past few months it has developed a judder, initially at around 60mph, now at most speeds. I have had the drive shafts changed twice using re-conditioned ones, the prop shaft has been disconnected to check that the problem only relates to the front of the vehicle, the oil in the transfer box has been changed, the wheels re-balanced all round and new tyres fitted on front, but the car still has awful judder particularly when accelerating. My mechanic has looked at the engine mountings and visually these look OK, but not checked other than a visual inspection. The age and value of the car does not warrant new Honda drive shafts, but I would dearly like to fix the problem. Any suggestions please? Read more
My mechanic did replace the transmission fluid but I do not know the details. I assume you rev the engine for 10 minutes whilst the wheels are suspended in mid-air to get the oil really hot before draining and replacing?

We had an 08 C2VTS HDi, being VTS its manual spec yes?
Ours never gave a moments trouble, but it had regular oil changes a lot more often than schedule suggests, and this engine the 1.6HDi Diesel of doom needs them....

HJ has replied to I assume the same question on his "What's HJ been asked?" section.
He points out that the Lancer was never a very popular car in this country, parts may/are be hard to get, and that it is expensive for such a car....
Just driven my 2010 ix35 Premium 2.0 tdci with media unit. The radio suddenly died after giving a beep. There followed a loud whine like the old TV testcard which hasn't stopped, even with the radio and engine off.

If you really don't want to use the air conditioning, (and God only knows why you wouldn't since it's the best feature that could be fitted on any car), then why not just leave it switched off? The compressor pulley will then freewheel.
I have a 2004 2.0 diesel Jaguar x type with 87 thousand miles. it has a problem picking up speed, misfires, has intermittant pinking noise with puffs of black smoke, may be a coincidance but I now notice there is engine oil all over the cooling fans, I did not notice the oil when the problem started, I have removed the egr, inlet manifold, and the hose under the egr & pressure washed untill spotless, I also cleaned the inlet ports to no avail Read more
Thanks for answers, I recently got the car, it was supposed to have been serviced just before I got it, the fuel filter looks new although I have ordered a new one, seeing the price of new injectors I will first try a cleaning additive

Most dealers will probably offer you less than the WBAC price. After all, they fancy a bargain as much as anyone.
If you want best money for it, sell it privately, with all the grief, timewasters, etc. If you can't be bothered / haven't got the time to do that, then just accept you're going to get substantially less, and that's the end of it.
