Hi,thinking of buying a nice astra eco4 2004 1.7, not heard of this model until viewing it! anyway the engine management light is on, the seller advised that the issue is with a turbo sensor?,does this mean egr valve etc? i test drove the car, it drives fine but there is no turbo boost or when you put yr foot to the floor the turbo dont feel like its doing anything, is this because the engine management light is on currently? suggest getting a code reader to check it out, the seller said it will cost approx £150 to correct it, i want to buy the car but bit reluctant due to the above! can anyone advise, the car starts and drives fine, but it has no real if any acceleration quickly! any help advice appreciated asap please.thanks to all.. I have just bought a merc c180 it's a beautiful car and drives like silk even after all these years. It was first registered in 2002 and it's starting to rust around the wheel arches but it's minimal. The garage owner who sold me it mentioned about a 30 year rust guarantee but I don't know much about it. Can anyone advise if this only applies to the original owner?
Many thanks Read more
Yep, as Craig and Rob have said, plus the page in the service book relating to the annual bodywork inspection must have been filled in and signed at the same time each service was carried out.
Get some quotes from some local bodyshops for the work to be carried out and continue to enjoy the silkiness!...
Hello,
I have bought Mazda 3 with halogen lights, a brought it home from the dealer today.... Read more
When I was manoeuvering last night to get in my drive I noticed the headlights of a new Audi were partially misted, as you say bottom up to about a third. Looking back a my own car, there was a small patch in each headlight, and the foglights. There are a number of cars up our road (including SWMBO) with heavy condensation of front or rear screens. I think it's just been exceptionally moist air (down here in the south, at least) recently with some sunshine that builds up heat behind glass during the day, encourageing condensation. Might be worth seeing if other cars up your road are similarly affected, and wait until the weather dries-out or warms up. That could be a wait though... :)
With simpler engine (motor) and lack of gearbox, they should be far cheaper.
Is the cost due to battery? Is it the manufacturing cost or because of patent/royalty etc.?... Read more
OK show me your evidence and I'll show you mine.
If you think that the fossil fuel industry isn't subsidised you've not been researching what you're saying....
My car seems to be playing up on starting recently. Sometimes it starts fine, although it does initially 'Humm' louder (stays on a higher amount of revs before settleing down to below 1) for the first few seconds since the engine was steam cleaned 6 months ago.
however, there have been 4 instances in the past week where i have had to keep the key turned for around 5-10 seconds before the car starts. The car is cranking during this time and my foot has to be flatdown for the engine to eventually turn on. The EPC light also comes on and stays on too somtimes
i have a video link below. please note the banging noise is actually me pressing the accelerator hard a few times
any advice will be welcomed

You said the engine was steam cleaned. Check all electrical connections under the bonnet for water ingress, and dry everything out.
I checked the fuses after a suspect blow heater not working following this my car wont start it turns over lovely but won't try and fire there no on board display either Read more
You didn't mix up a fuse with one of the shunts?
Hi all, I recently had my car repaired for a faulty starter motor.
However now my car radio seems to cut out and keeps asking for the code everytime I switch it back on. For example I switch it on "asks for the code" then it may play fine for few minutes or even less like few seconds. It then cut out and I'll have to switch it on and everytime put in the code.... You will need to check the permanent supply voltage to the radio.Perhaps there is a blown fuse.Check the handbook.
In September 2015 we bought an i20 from Bristol Street Motors in Nottingham. We got a good deal and we were pleased with the car initially. During the last couple of months however the air conditioning has been gradually failing. Reassured by their 5 year warranty we booked the car in to have it checked. The car has been service by Hyundai from purchase so was not expecting issues.
We have been told that the regassing of the air conditioning unit which is apparently 10% down on gas is a wear and tear item despite the car being only 15 months old!!. When we challenged their stance the dealer contacted Hyundai and were advised that the air con gas is only warrantied for 6 months. This is unbelievable. We await a possible good will gesture from the garage but whatever the outcome we will sell the vehicle and buy a Toyota or Honda. Shame on you Hyundai Read more
The Hyundai warranty specifically excludes -
"The replacement of lubricants, fluids or refrigerant other than as a direct consequence of a warrantable repair."...
Hi,
I have a 1.8 2000 reg petrol 306. A couple of months ago I went outside to start it and nothing! All lights on the dash light up but nothing at all from the engine. Luckily I live on a slopped road so I pushed it, jumped in and bump started it my self.... Read more
I'm pretty sure to get to the starter i would have to remove all of the battery box and support tray and also the air box and piping and air intake pipe and bracket.
