The issue isn't about reliability/performance but whether they have had NOx 'defeat devices' (including software in the ECUs) fitted like VAG cars (nothing wrong with their diesels' performance either), hence why I earlier said (assuming anything IS found) that Nissan would be involved too, given they share engines.

Nissan x trail has slight miss on cold start and knocks on accelaration knock disapears after 15 to 20 miles at first I thought it was a small end but now I'm thinking it maybe somwhere on the fuel / injectors dose not smoke or use excessive oil nor over heat or lose water. There are no warning lights. Read more

T30 Xtrail will fine on supermarket fuel.

Rattling like a bag of spanners while cold is normal for that engine, but it did have a few issues. I would post on the xtrail uk forum....

Recently bought my I10 Sep 2014 first registered Jan 2014, have suddenly developed water ingress and took it in to the dealer who confirmed a lot of water present in the car and told me it would need to have seats and carpets removed and dried and problem detected and fixed. However I get the feeling I could be subjected to a charge for this, the car is still on its 5 year warranty can I expect this to be covered by the warranty. Read more

My current car is very old and in dire need of replacing, I thought it would be better to lease a car instead and re-evaluate in a few years to see if I were better of buying. So I got a good deal through Lings but now I have been made redundant.

I contacted Ling to see if I could get out of it and although I have signed her contract only and not the finance company's she said I would need to pay £500 because it is a factory built car and there was no way out of it. ... Read more

Apologies to all for previous comments about seeking to see dealer principal, Lings is the (in)famous ex Dragons den website (she turned THEM down) that will successfully defeat adblock and any sort of popup blocker.

What does this uneven tyre wear look like, are both tryes wearing on the inside or outside edges or or opposite edges or only one side, any uneven tyre wear is caused by misalignment but if the wear is different for each wheel it may indicate that the camber or castor angle is wrong, these are not normally adjustable and if out it is usually caused by damage to the suspension.

Tracking error will not generally cause the car to pull to one side unless extreme but it will wear the tyres out rapidly.

Evening - just wondering if anyone has had the problem of Bluetooth being out of sync. When watching YouTube the sound is about 3 second out of sync. The same issue never happened in my last i40 which was the basic active model. Anyone help? Thanks Read more

Was up in Leeds monday to go to a funeral and see an old friend at the same time.

That is positively the most traffic I have seen outside of the M25 on a weekday afternoon. I was frequently in the wrong lane even with the satnav attempting to drive in utterly unfamiliar surroundings, but Guess what,... Read more

Glad to hear we locals treated you well, the traffic in West Yorkshire is heavy until you get outside built up areas. (M62 closed again today due to muti-vehicle bump, wonder how the accident rate compares with M25?)

When I visit friends in Suffolk its seems less congested, not been to Colchester or down the A12 for years, so can't comment on driver courtesy there.
