Hi all
A close friend is picking out her company car but its turning into a bewildering event. She's trying to configure a 220d Luxury Coupe to hand over, but getting it to show 99g/co2 as per the online page is proving impossible. Any ideas how to reduce it from 106g down?... Read more

Hi, should I be worried about a creaking noise when parking? It only happens when I turn the steering wheel, when I am manouevring my car, a Mazda 2 Sport, in and out of a parking space, so is something to do with the steering. The car is 2.5 years old and has only done about 6000 miles, so surely nothing should have worn out yet? Thanks. Read more

If you turn the wheel when the car isn't moving (as some do when manouevring) this puts great strain on all of the system and its joints, which could explain the creaking....

So, I got a new car and fitted the stereo out of my old fiesta in this. I swapped the red and yellow power lines on the ISO harness so the stereo would come on with the ignition like it should and retain its settings/presets. After 2 weeks the stereo turned off while driving. I found out that one of the fuses (specifically the 1amp fuse) on the ISO harness had blown. I have since replaced this but the stereo will not turn on.
It receives power as the blue lights that illuminate the controls when I've got the headlights on work but the stereo does not respond at all. I tried the origional VW headunit and that works without issue. ... Read more
If all the power and earth supplies are good, then i would suspect the radio is at fault.
There appears to be a socket close to the fuse box , under the drivers side dash . it has the pins but does not register with OBD2 . I phoned the agents and they said they did not know if it was or not OBD2 compliant .
Does anyone know the answer to this one ? How do the agents diagnose ? Read more
OBD compliant only relates to the engine system. All other electronic systems fitted to the car with a diagnostic facility can be read with appropriate equipt, but is not available cheaply.Main dealer will have this to check pre 2000 built cars. There are also many indy garages that would have the necessary equipt.

Not being a delivery driver gives me the perspective of driving one in routine circumstances. Four years of ownership I suppose gives me some sort of excuse for voicing an opinion. And, despite all the naysayers and detractors suggesting jerky take up and changes etc etc I'm afraid I'm inclined to side with dpadmore with regard to the way it drives. The reliability issues are, for better or worse, another subject which I and countless others have spoken about...but the way it goes is, on the whole, OK with me. Nothing's perfect and the DSG is no exception but don't knock it unless you've had some experience with it. If after a substantial time with it you still don't like it then so be it ...that's fair enough - we'd agree to differ.
I'll just take my question elsewhere because obviously you guys would rather be rude about it than be helpful.
It seems the OP has done as he proposed?
does this have a chain or cambelt Read more
Out of the petrol units in the MK4 Mondeo the 1.6 is belt driven and the 2.0 is a chain. If I recall correctly Ford advise the belt on the 1.6 should be changed at 100k miles whilst some Ford Engineers have mentioned 80k. If you replace the belt do ensure that tensioner is also replaced.

Remove engine breather black plastic pipe that runs from the front of the engine block to the top of the camshalf cover. Wash out the mayo blocking the pipe with water, replace pipe. Warning, this pipe gets very fragile with age, so make sure you can get a spare.
Thanks guys! We've been back in today. It is possible on the base spec SE with 16" wheels. Suffice to say she's just paying the extra in tax!
