Hi all, daughter has a golf mk6, when we took it for mot recently it was noticed that the fuel tank had a slight deppression in it. The tester thought it could be a blockage in the vent pipe as when you take the filler cap off there is a hiss of air going into the tank. Does anybody know the route and outlet of the vent pipe so i can check it out. Thanks for any advice in advance. Sparky100. Read more

Does anyone have any experience with clutch judder when moving off in first or reverse gear from a complete stop? My car with 29,000 miles is OK when cold but after 8-10 miles and especially when hot after a motorway journey judders sometimes quite badly. Problem was noticed at 10,000 miles but Audi dealership couldn't reproduce the problem. The technician at Audi confirmed it was a problem about 10 days ago and the car is in the garage under warranty but the feedback so far today is that no problem can be diagnosed. Clutch judder does seem to be an issue with a variety of VAG cars according to other forums but no real answers - does anyone have any experience of this issue and how they solved it? Read more

I'm on tenterhooks to find out what the result of the stripdown was today. Audi said they managed to replicate the fault but it was not that significant and of an "acceptable standard"for an Audi. If that's the case then Audi have very low standards for a supposedly high end £40k motor car.

From a previous post I have learned about the relationship of tyres to comfort. I have read on another forum a comment about the length of a car and comfort. Posts were not really clear.

My parking is mediocre so I really don't want anything larger than medium size, e.g volvo S40, although prefer supermini size such as Honda Jazz.... Read more

Skodalan, your nom de clavier suggests that you may agree with me that an Octavia estate is a good compromise between the cars you mention!

We're thinking of buying a 2012 Mondeo Estate 2.0 TDCi that has done just over 70,000 miles.

What maintenance issues should we bear in mind/what is likely to need replacing soon?... Read more

Brilliant, Catsdad! Our friend has also posted in the Technical section - in English but without saying what sort of car it is. Maybe a Volvo?

I have a FordMondeo on a 58 plate and just recieved a recall from Ford Motor Co. about this recall. Ive been in touch with my local Macklin ford dealer and they cant do the check until the 28th of march 23. I now have this hanging over my head as this is my only means of transport. Macklin want to charge me 20 to hire a car for 2 hours, I personally think this is rediculous as Takata the airbag manufacturer shoulf fit the bill for customer car hire as they caused the problem.

OP states that the car is insured for her to drive it back to the dealer. I'd love to know how this happened without her permission!

She insured it herself knowing she would need insurance to return it.
