I can't get in and out of gear 4 freely, it makes a sound when I force it through. Other gears works perfectly. I took it to a mechanic and he said my clutch is gone, however, if that was the case other gears will not work, therefore disregarded the mechanic. I currently have a car under the Motability scheme - my brother is disabled and I'm the nominated driver. However, I've been thinking of coming out of the scheme (buying my own car which my brother will still have the use of) - do you think its better to stay in the scheme or come out of it? Due to the nature of my brother's illness, he won't be around forever and my way of thinking is that I will need to branch out on my own at some point anyway, so might as well be now. Read more
As has been said, you have to work it out & make the choice. My parents had a motability car, and I know that all they had to do was to put fuel in, which you already know. Being in their late 70s, they decided it was a good deal simply for the lack of hassle. My mother had a stroke a couple of months before the 3-year contract ran out, and while they were in the process of choosing the next one. My father bought the outgoing one, because after 3 years he found it was ideal for his needs (Peugeot Partner Tepee).
He paid a reasonable price for it - it wasn't cheap, but not top price either. It had less than 20,000 miles on it after 3 years, and he knew it had been properly looked after, never misfuelled, and with all the niggles sorted. For him, it was again a good deal.
I am hoping someone can assist with this, can you change the pads and wind back the calipers on the i40 with electronic hand brake without using a diagnistic machine to wind them back. I don't want tonpay someone just to change my pads?

glow plug light on dash not working changed the relay and fuse 80 amp is fine

The glow plug relay and the dash warning light are controlled from the glow timer relay(7 pin).Check the connections here.There is also a coolant temp sensor in the water system that is part of the circuit.

The gear 4 is getting stuck and makes a noise when it being put into the 4th gear, like the clutch is not down. other gears work perfectly. Any help on what might be the problem? This problem occurs when going in and out of the 4th gear only. Any help please? Read more

The cause of gridlock Britain is too many people wanting or needing to travel too often and too much freight being transported over long distances.
I have contacted DVLA over a week ago to advise me of the Statutory Instrument that gives them authority to cancel Excise Duty when a car is sold and the new owner to forthwith take out a new one despite the fact that the old may still be current. No reply to a simple request.
