Hi All, I'm interested in your thoughts please. I lease my DS5 and overall I'm really pleased with it, however I've got some corrosion on the wheels which, if I owned the car I'd be into the dealer asking to get it sorted, however it's leased so I'm not really prepared to take the time and trouble. So my question is - when the car goes back at the end of 3 years with scabby wheels (clearly not caused by kerbing) and out of warranty will I get grief from the leasing company? Thoughts very much appreciated. Read more
I'm going to change my Focus diesel for a spacious petrol estate of similar size. I have a budget of up to £1500. So far I have thought of a Focus or a Corolla. Just wondering if I have missed any alternatives that are really good? I don't want to go back to a VAG car. Read more

I am looking for assistance where I can import main big ends bearings for my Jaguar S - Type V8. The car details are as follows:

In the motorcycle world, plain bearing shells for crank big-ends and mains are usually supplied by the manufacturer in several sizes to allow for regrinds / rebuilds.
If a Jaguar dealer cannot help, have a Google for 'Jaguar engine rebuild specialists' - loads of companies that specialist in the older 6- and 12-cylinder engines, I would have thought one of those would have an idea where to get new shells from.
Can anyone advise as to whether or not they would recommend having front and rear parking sensors fitted on a used SLK I have just purchased. I am used to them with my previous Audi but these were factory fitted. Some people say that having them fitted after production is more trouble than its worth.
Any knowledge or advice would be gratefully received Read more
I'll second the Steelmate recommendation, had front and rear fitted to the previous Hilux by a mobile sparky i've used for years, never a moments problem.
Fronts are useful on a high front vehicle, you could ''watch'' otherwise unseen children/animals walk past the front of the vehicle...being auto it had decent creep so he wired the fronts into the brake light circuit in order to cut out unecessary false alarms, wouldn't have thought of that meself prior to fitting but my sparky had fitted many sets before.
Hi All,
Really having problems trying to choose a car for me and my wife and 2 young kids to replace our ageing 2008 honda jazz.
Want something smallish but a 5 door automatic hatchback for under £8500k and no older than a 2011/12.

Nothing wrong with a Note.
My mother-in-law who is not the most mechanically sympathetic person I know (and therefore the most unlucky.....) arrived in Manchester this weekend (as she does every few weeks) in her 2009 Kia Sedona. It has the latest 2.2 litre diesel engine from the Hyundai Group. She does a fairly high mileage, with a good proportion on motorways. She announced that the engine management light was coming on every so often and the dealers with whom the car has always been serviced have advised it needs a £400 job - doing what I am not sure but she muttered something about valves??
So firstly, any ideas what the job might be? I suspect it might be something to do with poor quaity fuel and I advised her to start using Shell Nitro+ before she spent that money. Good advice??... Read more
Egr valve?
Most diesels have a problem with these at some point in their lives.
Hi everyone, newbie here!
So around 6 weeks ago I bought my first car (First car that i owned anyway). I now think that i rushed into the purchase and would like to get a different car as it isn't very practical for me. I have seen a few cars that i like and would like to perhaps purchase one of them. Now my problem is i took it out on finance, i have paid 1 payment on it so how would i go about part exchanging it? Would the company (Imperial Cars) give me enough money for it? Or would i be better to use the Ford buy back policy, or see what ford say?
Any help is appreciated!
Thanks

I can't really speak for Vauxhall, but on Peugeots we get blanking plate off Ebay for a few quid. Slacken off the EGR valve and stick the plate inbetween.
1) Wear & tear might be the corrosion of the clearcoat
2) Damaged is kerbed alloys and they the corrosion bobbles up around the kerbed area....
