The mileage is only recorded on the dash pod on these,so a replacement pod will show its own mileage, not your original figure.
Yesterday I had a Blue Badge holder in my car but when we got to our destination we were just unable to park and had to give up. Someone then told me that with a Blue Badge holder you could park on double yellows. To me this seems wrong as they are there for a purpose – for safety reasons or to prevent congestion. Saying that on one route I use on a weekly basis there are usually two or three cars (displaying Blue Badges) parked, where there are double yellows on both sides. This often causes congestion. It is also on a bus route and when I was on a bus last year the driver commented “Disabled? Disabled brain more likely!”. So what are the rules on this?... Read more
Residents parking was the best thing to happen to us-being only a five minute walk from a city centre and ten minutes from mainline station-City of London in 35 minutes-train every 12 minutes-our streets were jammed with commuters parking by 07:00.
For anyone interested have put a brief review on the HJ owners review section. So far so good. Read more
Being a very happy Ceed owner when we changed one of our cars 2 years ago another Kia was high on the list. We wanted a petrol but we still wanted a car with decent perforance and economy. Tried a 1.6 Ceed, too slow so thought about a 1.6 Rio, smaller car but with the same engine should be bette. Unfortunately they do not sell them in the UK so that was it.
As for the car itself it was fine. Only comments I would make are the poor rear visibilty (we could have lived with it) and the less than perfect rear access (again we could have lived with it.)....
Anyone knows what this code means? The garage has replaced an 'egr vacuum control' unit but the fault has come back. Read more
Engine size/petrol/diesel would be helpfull?
You recently commented on a question regarding servicing where you mentioned continuous use of air conditioning being better to keep it going.
I had a 406 bought new in 2000 and i sold it late last year, I switched the air con on the day I took delivery and never adjusted it or turned it off all that time, I think I had it serviced once, not one problem arose. Your advice holds good. Read more
It warms up quicker as the engine is having to work harder - better defrost come from the dehumidification.
I've alway run mine with a/c on all year - real benefit is in autumn/spring when the air is more humid and using a/c gives a much nicer climate inside.

What I'd like to know is,will these doors still lock/unlock with the original central locking ( I will eventually change the drivers door )

Ayds diet food and Dry Sack Sherry were both widely advertised/available in UK circs 65-75.

Plenty of people have this problem. It was featured in recent BBC Watchdog too. The fuel filter is blocked and thus engine is starved of fuel.
Check in Kia Owners Club forum's Sportage section where there is a sticky thread on this matter....
