Good to read, had similar problem with 2010 2.0 TFSI octavia vrs. Came out 4 weeks ago and toke it into main dealers, said they couldn't find anything wrong then because they had been opening the injectors via laptop which makes it run fine for a short while. Problem returned today and VW specialists came out and confirmed injector issue, I should have been more persistent the first time. Hopefully will be sorted tomorrow. The VW guy said better filling at shell as supermarkets have a higher sulpher content that the injectors don't like. Anyway if it hasn't fixed it I'llbe sure to make them change the injectors! Cheers Guys
We are having more than our fair share and it's not melted after more than a week. The footpaths are treacherous.
I travelled on country roads last night at 10pm with the temperature close to freezing in fairly thick mist. Apart from being concerned for the health and well being of one or two clowns who overtook me I was aware of the fact that when the temperture is hovering about 1 deg.C the road surface can either freeze or thaw. The surface had been treated but looked wet. I was very carefully listening to the tyre noise hecause I've been told that when the surface is covered with black ice the tyre noise stops. Any BR comments ? Read more
In thick mist, the penetration of the blue lights is sdtill considerable - you're far more likely to see that than you are to hear one with all the windows up.
Can anyone tell me the location of the temp sensor/s that controll the radiator fan.The fan runs constantly. It's on my atra 1.6 auto x reg 2000 ..Thankyou Read more
There is no specific temp sensor for the fans. The system works from the engine coolant temp sensor for the engine control system, located near the thermostat housing.

Hi does anyone have any ideas as to why the intermittent wash wipe facility does not work?.It just behaves as if I have moved the stalk to the slow wash wipe. I have changed the wiper motor on the advice of a local renault garage, but it has made no difference.could it be the relay, and if so ,where is it sited, or how can I find out it's location Read more
These are very difficult to fault find without any diagnostic equipt. The wiper relay is part of the engine bay fuse/relay plate and cannot be accessed on its own.You could check the fuses here, but will need to remove the battery to get the covers off. Also check fuses by glove box.
My battery is over 4 years old and I know that it could fail at any time. I don't want this to happen at an inconvenient time. Is it possible to test a battery to predict when it will fail? I know you can test it once it has failed, but can testers predict it before it happens? Read more
I would call Vauxhall main dealer, they often have good deals on batteries.
Hi everyone.
I am afraid I am reingniting the age old debate of Petrol vs Diesel, although I'm providing a specific set of circumstances to try and aid in the decision-making prcoes.s I'm sure the 'use the b***** search function' brigade will be cursing me now, however I have done a fair bit of research already, but I'm still finding a lot of conflicting opinions which are ultimately making it difficult making the choice, based on my specific set of circumstances.... I'd tend to agree that turbo engines (diesel or petrol) combined with a conventional auto can sometimes make an odd combination. The latest 8 speed gearboxes seem to have improved things.
Like it or not, the day when there isn't a single naturally aspirated torque convertor car on sale is rapidly approaching, if it isn't here already....

I have just had a look at the Dacia forum, and peole seem to be very happy with the face lift models built in Romania.
