Hi there, my problem started with the handle on my passenger side not going back in by itself when it was pulled out to open the door. Eventually, the handle stayed out and the door wouldn't close at all (it just bounced, like there was nothing to catch the latch).
We were towed home and the garage took a look and found nothing, jiggled something and the door closed fine. The garage told me to come back when it happened again (bit difficult to drive with a door that won't close!)... Read more
Just to let you know that from 9th Feb they will be installing Average Speed Camera's on the A12. I believe it's the Witham bypass section.
They are already fitting them between Colchester and Ipswich and I believe some are installed the other end near M25/Brentwood.... Read more
With regard to the A127, the bit into Southend between the A130 and Southend is full of junctions with traffic lights, houses directly onto the road etc.
It is all the junctions which hold you up - not speed cameras. Most of it is 50 with reducing to 40 and 30 towards Southend. You hardly ever get to do those speeds anyway and, frankly, 50 is quite fast enough for most of it....

It could be the aircon leaking. Does the aircon work OK?
It could be the heater radiator leaking. Does the coolant level appear to go down? If the leak is small then you wouldn't necessarily get wet carpets, but you would get a smell.
Car runs fine 10/15 miles then cuts out once you slacking 3 screws on filter housing lift it up let it draw in some air it runs ok again for same as ? Read more
One simple thing I would try is the next time the car stops unscrew the fuel filler cap, you might have too large a vacuum in the fuel tank.
Hey folks,
My partner is looking to buy a used car and has seen a VW Polo 1.4 SE, 2005 plate that she likes. It's done 80,000 miles, and according the its service history the timing belt was last done at 40,000 miles. My concern is that the car may now be due to have its timing belt done again at great cost; is that the case?... Read more
Thanks Rob - I hadn't seen that. It really is unnecessary and can be counter-productive to post the same thread twice. I'll close this one.
hi, i obtained radio code (7025) for my stereo but when inputting code the stereo comes up with wait3000 and starts counting down. i know the stereo came from another car so is it possible the code has been changed. The serial number is m014829. If this is case, what are my options please, many thanks. Read more
It worked, thankyou.
Hi, My 2005 Tucson brakes can operate via the ABS without pressing the pedal. This can happen when the key is turned or driving down the road. ABS light turns on, then TCS OFF light, then 4WD SYSTEM WARNING light. When all 3 lights are on the ABS is disabled and the car drives well, the intermittent brake operation no longer happens. I have fitted another yaw / G sensor, but no difference. Do I need to visit Hyundai to get ABS codes read? Thanks! Read more
Had car over 5 years, has been great. Just got codes read, showing offside front ABS sensor open/short circuit. Replaced, now perfect. Cheers for thoughts.

Clutch fluid or gearbox oil?
"A 20-year-old motorist has been jailed after he drove the wrong direction round Europe's busiest motorway for nine miles."
I assume this was really a 65+ year old motorist as you have that age to do that sort of thing! Read more
Many thanks Sofa Spud: it certainly sounds offensive, and what is 'you have that age to do that sort of thing' supposed to mean?
Anyway, I'm 66 so thread closed.

The main issue was with my passenger door not closing every now and then.
My other door handles are sometimes sticky. I put this bit of info in incase it was relevent to someone reading this and realising these things were related....
