I've got one of their strimmers-it's a pile of t*ss, the devil to start and has about the same power as a small food mixer.
Maybe it's got blow holes in it's castings.
Hi I just bought a car today off of a dealership. I couldn't fill in the v5c forms as he is waiting on them coming back from the dvla as the license plate is a cherished number.
I got home and realised there is no mot disc on the windscreen, I phoned him up and he said it was sent off with the v5c and will come back in the post shortly, when it does he will inform me straight away and I have to stop driving. He will then come to me and we can fill out the new form together so I can tax it and put it on the insurance.
Am I understanding this right? I'm currently driving a car owned by him so my insurance is third party only (I'm fully comp normally) and I'm under his tax until the forms come back.
He said that if I get questioned by authority about anything including the mot disc I can tell them the situation and I'll be fine.
Will I be? Also does that mean I have to pay new license plates or does he give me new ones?
Thanks Read more
Never had an MOT disc on the windscreen. We have 3 cars in the household at present with cuuent MOT's and none have a disc....
Hi all,
I was wondering what is generally considered the best route? Currently I run an Audi A3 1.6 TDI 62 reg. It's got 20k miles on it now but I've just accepted a new job that will move my mileage up from 8k/year to 25k/yr.... Read more
If something untoward happens to the car, as it will, it's a great comfort to know that someone else is picking up all the bills and doing all the administration concerned with owning and running a car.
All you then concentrate on is retaining a clean licence and doing whatever job it is that you are doing....
Hi All,
I recently just had my thermostat replaced and have just noticed my radio does not work and is asking for a key code. Having read other threads I believe I need to know the serial number to get the right code, however I do not know what my serial number is where can I find this?... Read more
Thank you will have a look when I get out of work :)
Hello,
I think I am in need of a new used car and I have narrowed my options down to either buying a used car somewhere in the region of about £8000 or waiting a year for my ideal car the updated Mazda 3 to come down in price enough for me to be able to afford it.
The problem with the first option is the cars that I like have to have quite high mileage to fit my budget and I feel that's always a bit of a risk.
The problem with the second option is that I don't know if it is a viable one or not. What price will the used updated Mazda 3's be in about a year's time. If it's much more than £10,000 then I may as well just try to get a decent car now.
So my question is how much do you think used 2014 Mazda 3s will be in about a year's time bearing in mind the cheapest now are around £14,000 with very low mileage?

I would guess that they will hold at around £11k. Higher mileages obviously command less, but until the fleets start releasing volumes at 3-ish years into a model's history values tend to be stronger - I learnt that with the Focus II and Megane coupe III, I bought both at 2 years into their model life and both devalued like a stone within a year as supply eased onto the used market and newer models came out...
If you're in the market for that size of car I would personally consider a 3 year Focus at present value for your £8k, but that's just me. My other half has a Volvo V40 which is built on the Focus and I think its better than my Audi A3 - certainly in terms of ride, engine, spec and comfort.
Having bought my last 3 cars from main dealers a few comments.

Sounds like when I bought my last car - pretty much said 'do you want this'? We said no and it was quick and painless.
Maybe helped being a cold Thursday afternoon and he knoew that we knew exactly what we wanted.
Good product, but don't get too close, some areas may lose paint if you do. Phil. Read more
