I h ave an astra 1.6 auto x reg (2000) the radiator fan will run constantly even with key out.
Is there a radiator fan switch on this model or is the fan controlled by a temp sensor via the cpu.If it's a sensor then which one and where is it located ??... Read more
Noticed a stagnent water smell when first using the car in the morning mostly.
A/C was due for recharge so had this done and deodoriser put through system which appeared to sort the problem as the deoderiser covered the odour.... Read more
I hope you have lifted the bonnet and examined the scuttle (in front of the windscreen) where the intakes are. Stuff like dead leaves tends to collect here, which may cause some of your problem.
What happens if you turn on the blowers, set to recirculate?
About to buy a lovely Transit and I need the vehicle for local deliveries. So a DPF is non negotiable.
My main dealer says that DPF's were not fitted until 2012 at the earliest and the vehicle has no DPF icon on the dash.... Read more
You should be OK. Given that Transits are used often for short urban journeys, one would hope that Ford have engineered a DPF with enough capacity to cope with this - otherwuse there would surely have been some bad publicity by now.

A family member of mine has a 10 month old Maza 2 - bought from new. During the recent freezing weather we have noticed that in the mornings there is a layer of ice on the inside of the windscreen. Is this something that should happen on a newish car? We've had it happen before but always on far older cars. Most daily trips are fairly shortish (4 or 5 miles per day) so could this be a factor?

Just like balleballe her heating is not on recirculate, and she does not use A/C. Carpets feel dry....
it starts fine but when it seems to be on the choke wont pull well,after it his off the choke it his fine it smooth idling no problem

Thanks for the info,there is another fan which i believe is for the air con on the front of the radiator (is that correct?)
Is the temp sensor the one at the back of the engine by the alternator screwed in near the inlet manifold??...
