I have a Saxo diesel 2000 X plate. Full history, regular oil/filter/fuel filterchanges. Recent glow plugs and 10,000 miles ago a cam belt and water pump plus a battery.
It drives, idles and starts without fault apart from the following fault; when cold it starts first time and ildles perfect , at the moment I have to wait 5 minutes for it to warm up and all is good and I can drive off. if I touch the accelerator before it warms up it stalls and excess smoke due to me trying to restart.... Pleased that you got to the bottom of the problem.
Would suggest you fit a priming bulb of some sort, or you will have no way to prime the filter or pump in future....
Just successfully completed a fix to my central-heating Combi boiler. After many years reliable running, I noticed very high readings on the pressure gauge. Summoned respected local plumber, who hadn't had this problem before, so rang the makers.
Could be a blockage in a connecting pipe, so removed and checked, OK; also the diverter valve. Next idea was a failing diaphragm in the pressure vessel, so that was ordered and fitted, which required other dismantling just to get it out and back in. Working pressure still up over 3 bar.... Hello Andrew, got it now. The problem was on the domestic side of the circuit not the heating side. Hope your fix works well. Good luck. Regards, Concrete
Help please. What is the specification of the transmission oil. Thank you Read more
Many sellers of this exact oil on the usual online auction site, Millers isn't quite so easy to find at the usual shops/factors as it once was, our local Wilko site used to sell it, to me, now they appear mainly to sell Comma, not to me..:-)
Pleased for you the oil change has given noticeable improvements, it invariably does and it baffles me why some people neglect all oils other than the engine.
Avant, and then made them less sophisticated with inferior engines, I believe. Upside is Ladas probably rusted less.
Not having used this part of my insurance before I thought the people who offered this actually worked for the client. Beginning to doubt this and would like your thoughts on below.
Accident last July - no witnesses - each party blaming the other. Other driver no injuries - me injured shoulder - A&E xrays, etc. Given pain killers and told bruising and friction burn would ease. Fine after 3 weeks. NO WHIPLASH AND NO PHYSIO NEEDED.... Read more

Price difference between single and multi CD on a 7 year old car is probably about £0.50
As to the lighter, this could be determined a fault and it is probably because a phone kit has been removed in the past and not reconnected or similar. Whether it is worth a 300 mile roundtrip for it or just get someone locally to try and fix it and take a hit on the cost is down to whether you can be bothered and how much it would cost.
just a curious question i would like to take a wee survey my car is 10 years old and it still runs ok but some people think oh its ten years old what do you expect ok how many people in thios forum have a ten year old car that goes ok blimey my moyorcycle is 33 years old and runs ok i will be interesting to see how many people on here drive older cars Read more

I am looking at a van at a dealers tomorrow, so on the assumption i want it I will be buying it and picking it up same time.
However I have not insured it yet, so if i insure it lets say at 10:00 then call them up after that I assume then that the tax lot will not tax it for me as they will not see the insurance on it.... Read more
I've also read the same, insurance is no longer checked.
We are about to lease a Honda CRV on Motability. I’ll swear that on one of the demonstrators I drove both wing mirrors tilted downwards as a reversing aid when reverse was selected and I found the mirrors easier to use than the reversing camera. On the last ‘SR’ I drove I could only get the nearside mirror to dip and the other demonstrator has now been sold so I can’t convince my sceptical salesman that both mirrors tilted though I certainly used that on the driver’s side to assist me park between two other cars. Presumably both mirrors have the capability to tilt, to cater for RHD and LHD models. Is there any way that my dealer can tinker with the electrics to make both tilt on selection of reverse?
