This model does not have a dipstick Recently I have been getting a message on longer runs 'Reduce oil level' It lasts for a minutes and then goes off. It repeats at random times. The oil level is correct and the engine runs perfectly. Is it just a faulty sensor? Read more

Could be the oil level has been over filled.Take the car to an MB specialist who has got the workshop dipstick where the level can be checked manually.

My last two cars have been new Volkswagen Golfs. When the inside of the car's screens mist up you can see circles on the screen where the suction pads were located when the screens were installed during production. Whilst the previous vehicle's circles were not in ones line of sight the latest one has them in an annoying postion. I have tried Autoglym products to clean the glass but they failed to remove the problem.

Any ideas how to remove the marks?... Read more

A new windscreen fitted to day and as far as I can recall to switch on the anti dazzle you press a switch on the underneath of the mirror and the light turns to green. In the off position before the mirror was in use the light was on red.The mirror was functioning correctly before the screen was changed.

Now the only light that comes on is the green light and at this time I do not know if the mirror is functioning correctly or not as i have not had to drive in the dark.... Read more

If it's like the one in my Octavia - and it probably is - the green light is on when you have the anti-dazzle on, but thre's nothing when you don't. Take it out at night and by switichng it on and off (when there are lights behind you) you'll soon see whether it's working.

Rear screen demister does nothing, though the tell-tale lamp lights and the 40-amp fuse is OK. No apparent damage to the filaments. Anyone know where the relay is? Read more

I shall have another look today. However this is the SW model, with the lifting-hatch in the tailgate, so there may be more strain on the wiring, and fewer points where it can be examined.

No known elec faults, but I shall check lights, etc....

I have used Shell Vpower or the equivalent for many years in a number of cars includin Vauxhall Astras.

I am about to take delivery of a Mokka 1.4 turbo and have contacted Vauxhall Uk about using Vpower in this vehicle as the manual reccomends 95 octane or possibly 98 octane whilst Vpower is 99 octane.... Read more

As long as the fuel used complies with EN 228 I don't see how the warranty can be voided.
