Hi I need new tyres on the front, but have read that I must change all four. I need to know what the best make is please? I have 16" wheels and use the vehicle about 75% on the road (rural mostly, not too much motorway) and 25% off road (tracks mostly). I need a reasonable price too!
Anyone able to help?
Cheers

I reckon a couple of days. You'll probably need an assistant to help you lift the facia out and back in too.
Why don't you give the whole system a good flushing and then refill but with the addition of a can of proprietory leak sealant? If it works this will save you an awful lot of effort.

There's no chance of cooking the battery with that little charger - leave it on for 24 hours.
I just had to change one rear tyre, that can't be more than 2 or 3 years old, at the absolute max, because the sidewall was perished.
It was quite obvious, can't understand what might mave affected only one tyre, all of them, have 6mm tread on.... Read more
If you've still got the tyre, you can check its age from its DOT code.

Woke yesterday morning to find my van rear ended and no offending vehicle around. I rang 101 and reported it. A passing police van decided to stop. As she was taking my details it came in over her radio that a vehicle had been abandoned with rear end damage. The police officer took away some debri that the other vehicle had left.
She said that CSI would be sent out that afternoon. They never showed and only decided to show up this morning after a nice rain fall. Took pics and swabs. Police were not interested yesterday but seem to be today. ... Read more
I'll need to buy a small car soon and my budget is around £1k. It'll mainly be just a car for winters and to commute. My commute is 6 miles round trip. In summer I cycle to work but its quite hard to do so in winters. I've got a family car so this car would hardly be used by the whole family.
My main requirements are reliability and cheap to run!... Read more
Thanks for all your replies guys.
I'll look for something Japanese (which is what I like :-) ). I'll look at bigger as well as smaller cars and hopefully I'll be able to find one that fits my requirements and my pocket.

Hi yes it is a Freelander 2 4WD, so is in permanent 4WD. Current tyres on when I got it are 215/75/R16.
Standard spec tyres would be 215/65/R16 but looking around the net it seems that many use 215/70/R16 .
I am just trying to make sure I buy the optimum both in size and type really. They get good use both on and off road, but off road is mostly unmade tracks and grass for work purposes.
