I'm looking to buy a simple "Parrot MINIKIT" hands-free car 'phone system. They have the NEO and the +, (the NEO is more expensive, so I guess it's newer)? I only use a basic mobile telephone, so I've no need for anything more complicated!

Can anyone give any feedback (good or bad) before I buy please? Read more

The Motorola TK30 is far cheaper than a Parrot and probably better.

Just wondering, if all the other boxes are ticked is there generally a mileage to avoid on used cars? Its a long family 'rule' that 50-70l is the absolute maximum, but surely if a vehicle has been well looked after, FSH and there's nothing dodgy then would it be safe to look at 100+ K miles on the clock.

Reason for asking is I am strapped for cash as we all are and I am never going to be able to change unless I go for something with higher miles, my trade price seems to have diminished rapidly over the last two years and I don't have much to put into the deal.... Read more

I've got an 07 which I've had from new, has been fine apart from a slipping clutch which was replaced under warranty, no problems, always a joy to get in and drive it. Can achieve high forties mpg if you're not hoofing it about. Check out http://www.civinfo.com/ for the inside information, this forum is for the 8th and 9th generation civics from 2006.

If you have a meter you can check the glow plugs in situ, with the wire disconnected each one should read about 1 ohm from from the terminal to earth, no reading or a much higher one would indicate a dud plug.

Another way of checking is to connect the meter on volts from any terminal to earth, when you switch to the glow plug position you should get a reading of 10-11 volts for about 30 seconds, no reading and the supply has failed, possibly the relay, 12 volts and all the glowplugs have failed, anything near pprox 11-12 volts and one or more will have failed.

I've noticed a loss in power lately but a few days ago I was dropping someone off and when we arrived we sat in the car for a good 15 minutes or so with the engine running. The outside temperature was cool.

When I drove off, the increase in power was quite incredible - car felt very light - lots more torque - but it only lasted a couple of minutes and now it's back to normal.... Read more

Hello there,

I recently received a ticket roadside for careless driving. I admitted the offence roadside (although this was questionable as i was distressed). However, I went to the court house to pay the ticket in person at which time I was told there was a mistake with the fine on the ticket it states £100 and the lady told me it was coming up as £200 on the system. She also said this could mean my ticket is void and i would need to go away until the next day when she would call me.... Read more

Looked at the OP, too difficult to read plus far too dodgy spelling and grammar so gave up. Enjoyed reading through the replies though.

I'd rather have the 350. The big block is just too heavy. I wonder which transmission it is fitted with-the 427 was often mated to the M22 close ratio with ridiculous ratios (long first gear and hopelessly short top gear). I wouldn't turn my nose up at any version though!
