I have just bought a 55 plate ford focus zetec which I collect on Saturday. I noticed that in the passenger and drivers footwell that there is not rim or covering at the top so that you can see the wiring etc. Mentioned it to the salesman and he said thats how all focuses are. I havent been able to get to see another focus and dont know anyone with one. I just wondered if anyone knew if there should be a hole or not!? As if there shouldnt then Id like it to be sorted before I pick it up!

Hi, my car was recently hit in the rear by 3rd party, damage is a small dent and cracked bumper. He admitted liability, and so have his insurers. I have not made a claim through my insurance, instead I made a claim direct to the 3rd parties insurers.

Thanks for your reply, I am going to push them to go a bit higher on their offer, then tell them I'm not allowing it to be written off, hopefully then will get enough to cover the repairs?
These insurance companies play on your emotions, especially if your car is damaged to the point it can't be driven, I'm fortunately not in that position and have time on my side, as I do not need to find a replacement....

Hi, my daughter has a 207 and at about thirty plus there seems to be a droning noise coming from the front end. It doesn't get worse when going round a corner like a wheel bearing. It just stays constant. I don't think it's an engine problem as if the clutch is dipped the noise doesn't change at all.
Mileage is about 38000.
It seems to have got worse over the last few days.
Any ideas would be nice!

Just to add.........I've had a look underneath the car and nothing seems obvious. No leaks or bits hanging off! I don't have a clue!!!!!!

Engine managment light on, cat light on, no power. it has been on diagnostics and new coil pack + plugs fitted as diagnostics came up with coil pack all been reset and drove away ok,about 1 mile away from garage then got to hill and now same problem,have had comression test done and all ok. my battery keeps going flat when left overnight or for a few hours ..nothing obivous left on car runs well with no other problems ..halfords thought it might be the starter motor causing it but wouldnt put there neck and say for definate ...the battery is discharging as soon as the engine stops ..they put a volt meter on it and you could see it dropping quite quickly when in the car so something is drawing the jiuce ...they said to take to main honda dealer as they will have the equipment to trace but anybody any other ideas ?? Could be a failed diode in the alternator. That is quite an old battery, did Halfords do a capacity check on the battery. Regards Peter

Might be worth replacing the whole head unit for a new one you can pick up fairly cheap ones that ate are of a decent enough quality.
There is usually a flimsy cardboard type trim both sides,but because they regularly fall off ,they generally get left off permanently.So i would not worry too much about them,especially on a car of this age.hth
