When driving my picasso last weekend I have noticed that the passenger front end seemed alot lower compared to the drivers side. I have checked the tyre and the spring and also had a mechanic take a look but seems to be nothing wrong. I still notice the problem every day now when I am driving the car which I didnt before,

Has anyone had any similar problem with their Picasso. Any help/ advice would be grately appreciated... Read more

I have had jacked the car up again and inspected the spring again using a mirror to get in where i can't see but can't see anything wrong. But like you say it maybe a small piece which has broken off.

The car is due its mot in the next couple of weeks so hopefully the garage picks up on it....

If it is asking for a code, then it may be one of this type of Kenwood radio that uses a transducer/dongle to release the code.Looks like a small blue plastic key fob.If you have not got it then it is cheaper to buy a new radio.hth

This is more of a warning than a question but since the ABI got insurers to agree that there would be no premium increase for fitting winter tyres (https://www.abi.org.uk/Insurance-and-savings/Products/Motor-insurance/Winter-tyres) I thought I'd see about getting some fitted to my Volvo S80 this year.

The handbook recommends replacing the existing summer 225/50R17 tyres with 205/55R16 winter tyres so I priced up a set of steel wheels and phoned the insurance company to double check. ... Read more

You have gone for a smaller size wheel, with a more standard profile. Ask again about the insurance, I was not charged extra to change from 215/50/17 to 205/60/16 wheels / tyres - crucially these are also a standard fit to my car and I have used original Nissan alloys. (Thanks ebay and breakers yards)

A second consideration is the possible lower cost of tyres for the smaller size wheel, it may even be a greater saving than the extra premuim....

Doing the survey and in question 12 where you are asked to grade various attributes of a new car from 1 to 12 the boxes will not accept your grading, they keep numbering fom the top at 1 to the bottom at 12.

Seems to me to be just another marketing ploy. I started to fill it in,then realised it`s just another way of increasing the spam content of my mail box.

The £30 will without doubt be an admin charge. Do your changes on-line (if your company does this) and they are free.

I also started drawing my pension at 50, was in my contract and T & C's that I could do that. It was also possible to continue working and freeze your pension which would then increase by 5% + inflation every year. Very few did it. If I had worked another 5 years it would have taken a further 15 to catch up....

Engine idles between 1200-1500 revs when hot...but this speed drops to 800 revs , immediately the vehicle stops moving.

Have experimented on a steep hill, bringing car to a halt [idle drops to 800 once stopped].....I then let the car roll forwards, and almost immedaitely the idle speed starts to rise to around 1100-1200 revs, dropping again as soon as the car is brought to a halt!... Read more

Hi guys, just wondered if i could muscle in on this thread let me know if i need to start a new one. You seem like a knowledgeable bunch and i always seem to get an unfriendly response on other forums!

Sister in laws 2001 Facelift Mk4 1.25 zetec is using more fuel than it should, no fault codes logged but it has the dreaded hanging idle problem which is the only thing i can see wrong....

I bought this beastie in March 2012 and exported it to Cyprus. No complaints as running and maintenance costs here are tolerable.

However as I don't have a handbook, can anyone explain the function of the centre instrument of the top of dashboard threesome. It has an outside temp gauge, but the "S" button at the bottom right of the instrument doesn't seem to make any sense. It just changes the flashing S to E to W (points of the compass? where is "N"?) and counts from 0 to 15 and back in steps of 5. ... Read more

Yep. Wise words.

Hi

In March I stopped for breaking the speed limit in a 40 mph area. I accepted a fixed penalty ticket and I subsequently attended a police station where I provided evidence of my insurance, driving licence etc.. As requested at the time I left my license, and the payment form with my credit card details with the police station. The payment was subsequently taken from my credit card several weeks later and my license returned.... Read more

OP, do update this. Although DVD may be right, I'm not sure they can make an offer, have it accepted, take the money, issue the points, and then say "we should be fining you more so the matter goes to court".

If the money was taken - and you have proof, ie a credit card statement, you need legal advice from a solicitor if the magistrates clerks office confirm the case is going ahead.
