If you're buying new, the 1.4 isn't listed any more. If secondhand, I'd still suggest the 1.2 105 bhp version which is more powerful than the 1.4 (and is probably the reason for Skoda's dropping the 1.4).

In 2012 Skoda were offering the 1.4 16V MPI SE for £8995, presumably to use the remaining 1.4 MPI engines. In 2013 they have been advertising a similar offer but for the SE Hatchback 1.2 12V (this is the 3 cylinder engine) at £8995 or the SE Estate1.2 TSi 86PS (four cylinder engine) for £9995

It was the 1.2 TSi 86PS that replaced the 1.4 MPI.

If you've been offered a 1.4 MPI SE, check the manufacturing date as I imagine it may have been in stock for a while !!!
