Anyone noticed that all Audi's seem to have spectacularly bad screenwash jet accuracy. They wash the windowscreen and not only their car gets a full wash but so does everyone around. Whats up with that? Are all the Audi dealers utterly useless in doing pdi's? Or are they designed to be rubbish? Just asking. Read more

Hi Guys,
Looking to spend up to 4k on an estate car, had a look on the usual sites and to be honest a little stumped as there's such variety.
Considerations are:
- ability to cart bikes and boards either in or on the car.
- reasonable insurance.
- economical running costs.
- needs to fit my little one in the back.
- comfortable for trips of 4-5 hours.
Any thoughts or suggestions...
Many thanks,
Alex. Read more
Go for a Golf estate if you want to stick with VW, although also bear in mind that you could get a bigger, newer, mechanically identical Octavia estate for the same money.
I am desperately trying to put new glass in the door mirrors of my 2cv and it is proving to be a nightmare. Has anyone managed to do it easily. Read more
Why bother to try to fit new mirror glass? Replacement mirrors available here:-
I bought a used car from a dealer recently which I saw on Autotrader and Ebay. Both listings showed the car as having heated seats, parking distance control and an iPod AUX input. Turns out after having the car for a few days and consulting the manual the car doesn't have any of these.
Whilst the rest of the car is great and is accurate of the description, I'm a bit annoyed these features were listed and not there. Where do I stand with re-dress or compensation from the dealer? There wasn't any disclaimer that the description may not be 100% accurate etc. Read more
agreed <Andrew-T> , and that is my point really. Whilst I feel a bit short changed, ultimately it looks like there isn't a lot I can do about it. They shouldn't be allowed to advertise features which don't exist on the product they are selling or use a disclaimer which basically says "yeah we might be bending the truth but there is sod all you can do about it".
Ricojames (09 August) should change his dealer. This is caused by a worn linkage on the anti roll bar, quickly diagnosed by Colborne's, my own dealer. A 30 minute fix and all is now as it should be. Read more
My wife's 53 reg 9-5 2.3t estate is super in so many ways - not least safety.
However, costs are looming with turbos, bodywork (dents, scratches, not rust), and other commestibles requiring attention.... Read more
Many thanks indeed for all of the contributions here - if anyone wished to apply thier expertise to putting a list of pros and cons to keeping or selling, I would be glad to read them.
Well it's almost a year old, 7k miles lots of them towing our caravan (yes I can hear you all groaning) Fuel consumption is steadily increasing, I got 30 mpg whilst towing 1.4 tonnes of 'van from Berwick to Doncaster so it's not all bad! Unscheduled visits to the dealer, zero, faults to report at the first service in two weeks, zero. I occasionally hear a rattling noise inside which I tracked down to my sunglasses in the overhead receptacle. Paint still nice and shiny, nothing has stopped working or fallen off. I have put just about 250ml of oil to top it up, just the once mind, which on a brand new diesel engine is OK. I am a happy bunny. Read more

Hi All,
I've been reading up on the DPF issues on the 2006-2008 Mazda6 2.0d 143bhp models.... Read more
Apologies, now having done some more research it seems the older ones have DPFs anyway, so I guess they will also suffer..... oh well.
