Hi

Looking a bit of help please!

Have a 2005 reg Citroen Picasso 2.0l diesel, only 50k on the clock,

About a year ago the engine management lit came on randomly after driving perfectly to our local garage (garage was ouR main Peugeot dealer) and they found several faults and replaced sensors. Mathis scenario has continued from dec to June when they had our car most of the time ... I'd have got it one for a day and light would have came on again, but they said the diagnostic machine always through up a different fault,

Fuel pressure sensor has also been replaced,

Engine management light came on again and it was decided to replace the ECU ... All sensors, tests and ECU has cost over £1000!

Diving the car home tonight and low and behold the engine management light has came on again!!

Can anyone help me as to what it maybe??? The light comes on and the car appears to lose power but will drive very slowly .... I am tempted to trade in but with spending so much money on repairs that is no longer an option.

Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Hi,
Just wanted to get some advice about my car. Recently had an issue with my cambelt. The glow plug light came on while driving and so I turned the car off but it wouldn't start again, just turned over upon inspection it seemed the cambelt cog wasn't attached properly and worked it's way loose, eventually mangling itself and breaking through the cambelt cover. So the sensor wasn't sensing the rotation of the cambelt. It was a very bizarre occurence and the mechanic says he's never seen that in the 40 years he's worked with cars. It's all fixed today and drives fine.

Anyway my issue now is that there is oil in the water tank and milky residue under the oil cap which instantly sounds like a head gasket issue. However it has never over heated and there's no white/blue smoke so I just wanted to know if it actually is the head gasket or something else.
Is there a chance that it's linked with the cambelt issue?
I just want to be sure before replacing the head gasket as it's a costly job. Read more

Most garages have the kit to detect combustion gases in the coolant header tank. If they are there then you have a failing head gasket. I assure you do not have an oil cooler which could let oil into the water. Regards Peter

Hi.

Looking for a ford mondeo estate. Being browsing the ford direct website and see a lot of 2012 models with "25 miles" on the clock.
What can I expect from these types of cars? Would they probably be ex-show room?

This morning I drove my car from the underground carpark at the building where I live and which I have a permit for, at which point my daughter decided she was desperate for the toilet! As my fob has stopped working I couldn't re-enter the carpark so I parked in the common area, put my hazard warning lights on and ran inside. I was gone perhaps 5 minutes at the most, and when I returned there was a 'Parking Charge Notice' attached to my windscreen which stated I had 14 days to pay £65 for parking in the common area. The enforcer was taking a photo of my car so I explained my situation to him - he simply said that as I was a resident I should know better!

If you are a resident, why would they need to go via DVLA to get your contact details?

Buggies are the rage nowadays.

I'm a great admirer of the design of Maclaren buggies. Whenever I see one I wonder how much bent metal was left over after the prototype was made.

It states production is off to Turkey but I thought Transits have been made there for years as well as elsewhere and it is the fact that UK production has stopped completely?

I recently took delivery of a brand new Ford Ka Titanium. Within 2 days I queried the specification of my car as some equipment marked as standard when I ordered it has not been fitted. The dealer was initially difficult to deal with but has tried more recently after I have threatened legal action. Having spoken at length with Ford I have been told that Ford are nto going to do anything as they believe they built what the dealer ordered. I have attempted to contact Mark Ovended (MD Ford UK) but he has ignored my questions and referred the query back to the same team in the so called 'Customer Reslationship Centre' who aren't interested in solving the problem.

I have now been offered a lower spec car (which does have the missing euqipment but lack lots of other stuff standard on my Ka) plus a request for an additional £500. Not reallly much of a solution. I am now writing to the Ford Credit bank who have provided my PCP scheme under the terms of the Supply of Goods and Services Act. Read more

Spot on Davey it is design faults and clearly there is no regard to retain the customer for the longer term. I am sure anyone that has been burned by the appaling customer service and backup of Ford will not consider returning when they are in the market for a new car again. Everyone I know with a nearly new Ford seems to have had a catalogue of various problems and it seems to take the threat of legal action to get things done.

Bit of a cheeky request, but I am currently looking at:

Audi A4 Avant 2.0 143 D, SE 59' 2009 with 61k. Silver. Multitronic. Leather and nav options. Average condition.

Audi A4 Avant 2.0 143 D, S Line, 09' 2009 with 89k. grey. Manual. Clean condition.

Wisebuyers reckons £8500 trade for the S Line with 89k. Glasses trade price is 10k!

Is anyone able to give me the latest CAP clean and average prices for these?

I would be extremely grateful if you could...
