Today I was stopped by police for allegedly talking on a mobile phone whilst driving. The pc issued a ticket and stated the usual consequences, 3 points and fine, but he didn't take my number or ask to see phone, which I thought they did. How can they prove in court I was committing the alleged offence? I wasn't talking on the phone - just using it to scratch my head. Read more

Hi All, I have seen other posts about new owners of Mondeo's (like me) and other fords having problems getting help with paper element type Oil acces (one ended up in a right ding dong!). The type using stiff paper insert-elements are at the front of the sump behind the radiator. Quite accessible (thanks Henry) they have a plastic base which requires a special 14-15 sided tool of (about 72-74mm size A/F).

These are available off E Bay for £11-£15 posted BUT there are about 4-5 sizes from 65-90 ish mm. These plastic fragile bases will likely crack wide open if a crude screwdriver method is used. I have just been out to Motorworld and purchased a £6.99 'all models' chrome 100mm (standard) metal canister removal lever-tool, and on my Mondy this loosened it easily and without damage (as the it grips all around with small serrations) .... Well if you're a glass half full type of person, you can marvel at the robustness of Mondeo engines.

If you're a glass half empty type of person, you can panic about the possible state of the engine and whether you you get rid....

There was a single lane marked, you attempted to make two. The bus was not indicating either way. The slightly-right positioning could have been to enable a tight left turn without clipping the corner. The lack of a dedicated lane could have caused him to hit you with his rear if he was turning right. The bus driver did not see you as he did not realise someone may position themself there, and was looking at the road ahead.

I've been in a similar position to the bus, where I was in a clearly marked single lane, waiting to turn left but not signalling (in this case due to very slow traffic). Being in a car I saw the person who squeezed up my inside and waited for him to get out of the way. Not exactly the same as it was a multi-lane road, and the other driver was more clearly at fault than you....

I only have a small budget to get the girlfriend a new car. She currently has a Pajero 2.8 SWB but we can't afford to run it as the MPG is awful.

I need an automatic for around £800 that has space for her to chuck the 3 dogs in the back. So far I have been looking online at Ford Focus Estate 1.6, Honda CRV, Vitara.

Can anyone recommend anything please? I am a total numpty when it comes to car knowledge. Thanks. Read more

Yes you can but luggage space is small so your going to have to put it in the 3rd row and the 2nd row on the floor but 3rd row is a small place to sit in and get luggage so people in the 3rd row are going to have to hold the luggage but the only ones you can go in is the Ford Tourneo,Vauxhall Vivaro,Renault Trafic,Nissan NV200,Nissan Primastar but they are very van-like

I also have this car which is a Indigo TDI Sport...

I've noticed water on the bottom of the pollen filter in the passenger footwell. It isn't a lot of water, but it eventually drips onto the carpet and it seems to be running down the outside of the filter housing (the filter was bone dry inside).

Tonight I took the glovebox out and the heater blower motor so I could see behind. Everything was bone dry and dusty - no traces of water at all, thought it might have been coming in via the air inlet and working its way through the heater.... Read more
