Hi

I have a problem with misfire in 4th gear I have put new plugs in and changed the coil pack . the car is idling fine and not sounding rough. After I put the coli pack on and cleared the codes I took the car for a drive and when I hit about 50mph the car started jerking and missing the eml came on and went off after i slowed to 30. I have had many suggestions from people such as gear linkage, egr valve, a duff plug , air leak.... Read more

Hi. Anyone had dealings with Global automobiles, Blackburn? My partner bought a car recently and found lots of problems with it. We rejected the car but they don't want to know. I have sent a letter under the sale of of goods act. I also contacted my credit card company as we made part payment for it this way as well as by cash. I understand they are jointly liable under the consumer credit act for the full amount. Is that right? Any advice or help welcome. Thanks. Read more

I so wish I had seen this earlier. I bought a Nissan Navara 7 days ago and have been totally screwed over. All the underneath chassis has rotted away and left me with a deadly vehicle. Did you manage to resolve your issue? Thanks gemma.

You should take it to a competent garage, preferably an MOT testing station to look at, hopefully it looks worse than it is, they can look pretty dreadful whilst still being sound.

Don't be too distressed by rust on the chassis that isn't perforating, that's quite normal to see, chassis are not treated by the vast majority of makers anywhere near well enough at manufacture stage....

hello everyone.

i recently had a problem with my pug 306 (it wouldnt start), i changed wiring loom but that didnt solve the problem, i then got an open ecu which bypassed the immobilizer, the car now runs but wont rev above 3000rpm. also sometimes when i turn the key on i get a horrible noise from the fuel filter housing. could it be a wire i missed out or something? any ideas would be very helpful..... The fuel filter noise is a 'characteristic' of some Hdi engines but not normally anything to worry about, its some sort of resonance, at least it shows that the pump is working.

For you low rev problem you need a code reader, if you look on the 'French Car Forum' there is a list of people that have Lexia/Planet analysers, if you live not to far from one I'm sure he would help you out....

I have just changed the thermostat on my Skoda Felicia 1.3 petrol engined car of 2000 vintage. The whole unit, including temperature sensor, thermostat and housing was fitted. As per the manual, the coolant was topped up with the temperature sensor and expanion tank cap removed, the engine running and the heater set at full. Whilst adding the coolant a lot of air bubbles were surfacing. After well over half an hour, these appear to have subsided, hence I presumed that any air in the system had been expelled. The temperature sensor was re-fitted and the coolant topped up via the expansion tank, to the correct level. Throughout this procedure the temperature gauge did not fluctuate, but rose gently until the fan kicked in and it dropped back to normal. I then took the car for a 20 mile run, along a variety of roads, including motorways, A and B roads and three town centres. During this trip which lasted over an hour, the temperature gauge fluctuated to just below the top red marker and then dropped back to normal. This occurred on 6 separate occasions on all the roads traversed. Furthermore, the heating which was fierce, cooled just before the gauge rose to the danger level, dropping back to normal a minute or two later, when the heating would return. When I got back home the expansion tank required 800 cc's of coolant to bring it back to the required level. Your thoughts on the possible cause and solution to this problem would be most welcome.

I have one of these with a 1.6 engine. Never had a problem with bleeding it, just kept filling the bottle until it would take no more.

The brakes need doing as you wouldnt want to be heading towards stationary traffic at 70mph when they fail!!!! that would be the first thing, changing the timing belt is important as if it goes it does alot of damage to the engine meaning you will either need a rebuild or replacment engine. replacment engine cheaper!

As for the rear coil spring and coolant cap, rear spring could cause problems if it snaps with any kind of force at speed, the coolant cap isnt important enough to worry about but id pick one up from a scrap yard....

Afternoon. Just wondering if anyone has come across this before.

For the past six months when turning on the ignition all of the dials go to the maximum for a couple of seconds before settling back to normal. This has occured more frequently as time has gone by.... Read more

The problem ended up being a faulty battery, which was actually 3 1/2 years old having checked the receipt. I fully charged the battery off the car, left it overnight and fitted. The car wouldnt turnover as the battery wouldn't hold charge.

A new battery has now been fitted and car starts up fine without the dials going mad....
