mondeo - Mondeo tdci 130 6 speed dual mass flywheel - 55130tdci6

Oh dear not this again!

So I bought a 55 plate mondeo less than a week ago. On the test drive everything felt and looked great including the clutch/flywheel problem that I was aware of, however over the week ive had it:

Reverse is sometimes hard to get in but not with the engine off, doesnt seem to matter if its hot or cold.

Sometimes when started cold the engine only revs up to about 500-600 rpm until I give the throttle a blip and it sorts itself out.

No warning lights come on and there is no vibration or movement when the clutch is depressed, is this the dual mass flywheel on its way out? Im hopeing not as im skint. If it is, rough price?

Car has covered 134915 miles and is in pretty good condition mechanically

Doesn't sound like DMF trouble, that would give you noise and vibration, its completely mechanical so would affect anything else. Sounds like an electronic fault, using a fault code reader might help.

Difficulty engaging reverse could be a clutch problem though, sounds as though its not disengaging properly, how far do you have to let the clutch up before it bites?

clutch bite is very low, just been out to get fuel about 3 miles and after filling up 1st didnt want to go in, thinking clutch, might be taking it back to the garage on monday!

thanks for the reply.

I'd be changing the gearbox oil first with those miles on the clock. I'm a big fan of Red Line. Check opieoils site for recommendations.

thanks ill say that to them, im not spending a penny on it as ive had it less than a week, i hope it is something simple like the oil as i need it for work.

thanks for the advice.
