Toyota Avensis D4D Tourer. My last company car, did 150k miles in it in less than 4 years, pulls like a freight train, economical (56 mpg avarage), comfortable, reliable and swallows a huge load (got a single bed in it with the rear seats down) and has a flat load deck, no lip to lift things over. The only thing I would change about it if I could is the electronic parking brake, I prefer a conventional style handbrake. This sounds boring but my car is due for renewal soon and I have asked for another Avensis D4D Tourer.
If mine had more power and was more comfortable, it would be close to my favourite car. The suspension is a very good balance between ride and handling, and it's very well engineered. But there are aspects to my other cars that I loved....

Hello everyone. I´m new here and was wondering if someone could help me out. I saw an amazing deal the other day from the website Top Gear Auto Blog - they were offering a TopGear franchise. All you have to do is buy one of their cars and they give you a franchise. They offer finance of US$450,000 and these funds are dedicated for the franchise dealership inventory as well as any overheads. Is this a good deal? Please help.
hello guys
my mondeo has been having the warm start problem lately where it will start when cold no problem but a pain when warm. anyway I was out last night and when I got in my car to come home I had no battery left to get the car started, I asked a taxi driver to let me use his battery to give my car a boost with jump leads and when we connected them up the dash just flashed like crazy and then died. so now I have no ignition circuit.. the dash lights up but with nothing at all to do with the ignition....any ideas??... I cant try and start it because there's no ignition at all..if I turn the key everything dims but nothing happens

A friend has asked me to "assist " him in finding a 7 seater as he now has 4 young children and can no longer fit them in his 407. he has a budget of £5000 maximum, and, Knowing a local main dealer who I trust, and like have suggested he looks at the above car. His needs were.... Must be an auto, but only 3000 ish local miles a year ( so nott needed to be adiesel with the possible complications of that engine) and looking at the condition of a few i have seen, like the look of this one. The main dealer will service it mot it and provide 12 months parts and labour warranty. I cannnot see anything terribly bad about them after reading HJs reviews, and suggest that this car from a local dealer would be his best option.

Update..
18 months on, Haven't seen my friend in a while, saw him yesterday,but dealer was good in fixing warranty issues up to end of 1 year warranty, and car has been ok since . Satisfied with car.. was a VX main dealer.
I am looking at buying either a Yaris or Jazz that is 1 or 2 years old. However my concern is would I be buying someone elses lemon? - Afterall why on earth would you trade in a new car after only 1 or 2 years ownership?
I can undertsand with Fiestas and Focuses, you are probably buying an ex fleet car, but I doubt that is the case with a Yaris or Jazz... Read more
ANy car you buy new or old can be a disaster. Just read some of the stories on this website. Go for a car you like at the price you can afford and check out the reports on reliability etc on this and other website BEFORE you buy it.
All cars need looking after- regular checks and maintenance, if you cant do the basic checks get someone to show and explain them to you. It is not difficult....
