Start with the fronts as you haven't got the handbrake to worry about.
If you are replacing discs you MUST replace the pads as well as the old ones will be worn to the profile of the old discs....
What will happen to the reversing sensors if I get a (assume dealer fitted) towbar and use a trailer?

If you get the dealer fitted system and there is a trailer plug plugged in, the reversing sensors wont come on.
I am really happy with the car however in recent weeks the engine warning light has come on even though the car is running very smoothly. The car has only done 23000 gentle miles with very few short journeys. It is serviced annually by a first rate non franchise garage who tell me that the fault code indicates a 'camshaft phasing sensor' problem. They have reset the car on 2 occasions but the warning light comes back on. Is this a known problem with this model and does it sound expensive? Read more
A very late follow up to my previous enquiry. The E350 has now done 43000 miles and has run perfectly since switching petrol from Shell Normal to Shell Nitro. No reappearance of the engine warning light whist running. No idea why this should be so but it does support your view that there can be worthwhile benefits in using this fuel. I have no connection with Shell!
Apart from the annual road tax this has been a cheap car to run (26 mpg) having regard to its size and performance but I only do 6/7000 miles pa. and servicing is not perfomed by Mercedes.

This is nothing new. Manufacturing in the UK has been severely damaged for years. European Union environmental regulations have already led to firms being paid taxpayers money to close factories, make UK workers unemployed and move production to India.
If they're making parts for companies which mostly export to the rest of the EU then those jobs will go as the EU contracts every year. I notice Jaguar - who are focused on the far east rather than Europe - are doing very well.
Where is the CPU for the reversing sensors on a Mondeo 3 estate? Any offers? It's not in the c-pillars where it should be, and doesn't seem to be inside any of the cladding in the boot. Factory fitted. Read more
Thanks; Behind the glove box I found the speaker, stuck to the top of the fuse box with Velcro. The ECU I found above the panel for the first aid box; and it is fine. Ford tried to charge me £280 for a new one. Diagnostics would have been £45.00 for the first half-hour.
The problem was a bad earth, on one of the sensors. I unplugged it and dried off the contacts, and the reverse sensor works once again.
I collided with a height barrier at the entrance to a car park that is owned/leased by the Co-Op. I was driving a hire van high sided transit type and hit the barrier at the entrance to the car park.
The barrier was goal post type with fluorescent stripe on the crossbar.
The barrier was not displaying any warning signs or height and I was hoping that this was a breach of some legislation or regulation so that I can claim the £900 excess I just paid to the van hire chaps!!
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated. Read more
Even the professional can get it wrong. This from last week in Bristol, I think tinyurl.com/bc68muz

Thanks for that. will have a look later.

I reckon your gears rods and linkages may have worn. These will need to be replaced, and i'd recommend to replace the whole set to prevent you having further problems with them.
