This is nothing new. Manufacturing in the UK has been severely damaged for years. European Union environmental regulations have already led to firms being paid taxpayers money to close factories, make UK workers unemployed and move production to India.

If they're making parts for companies which mostly export to the rest of the EU then those jobs will go as the EU contracts every year. I notice Jaguar - who are focused on the far east rather than Europe - are doing very well.
