Toyota Avensis D4D Tourer. My last company car, did 150k miles in it in less than 4 years, pulls like a freight train, economical (56 mpg avarage), comfortable, reliable and swallows a huge load (got a single bed in it with the rear seats down) and has a flat load deck, no lip to lift things over. The only thing I would change about it if I could is the electronic parking brake, I prefer a conventional style handbrake. This sounds boring but my car is due for renewal soon and I have asked for another Avensis D4D Tourer.

Favorite Car - Ben 10

My favourite car as a 20 something was my Fiesta MK1 XR2 in white.

My favourite car as a family man and grey around the gills, Jaguar X Type.

I also had two of these, an 04 with 2.0 engine and a 55 with a 2.2 engine and 6 speed box. Good solid cars and nice to drive, but I don't recall them having an electronic handbrake, it was a lever you pulled up. - was yours the new shape one ?

If mine had more power and was more comfortable, it would be close to my favourite car. The suspension is a very good balance between ride and handling, and it's very well engineered. But there are aspects to my other cars that I loved.

The straight six in my BMW and the fantastic ventilation that supplied cold air through the centre vents at the same time as warm air on your feet and the sports seats.

The velour trimmed recaro seats in my Opel Monza were just amazing.

The four wheel drive traction and charismatic five cylinder engine and the great interior design of my '86 Audi 90 Quattro. (And another car that could do the cold/warm air at the same time).

I'm sure I could find things about my other old cars that stood out for me, but I won't bore you.

As always, you can't have everything in the same car :)

Hello friends,

I have two cars BMW and Audi, both are my favorite.

I have two cars BMW and Audi, both are my favorite.

I'm impressed that you've managed to stay out of the BMW-Audi wars, but "No man can serve two masters."

A serious (and most definitely friendly ) question though, if you had to choose between the two, which one would it be?

And for a bonus point . . . why?

:-)

My Fiat Coupe. I still miss it's zing, it's acceleration, and it' s great looks. There are very few left about now and the two I used to see on Anglesey seem to have gone to the great scrapyard in the sky. One problem I used to find was it attracted too much attention from the rozzers, maybe because I had a reputation for keeping the speedo needle the wrong side of 80. What a shame Fiat chose not to develop it further. Lovely motor!

Favourite Car - Pebble

Without a doubt, my 1975 AMC Pacer. A true glass bathtub on wheels, and funfunfun to drive. Would love to find another one.

My Mazda RX 8 for the first hour or so, fast, handles like a go cart, after driving it for an hour it starts getting to noisy and uncomfertable.

Favourite Car - Canon Fodder

Mk1 MR2 - The B road from Newbury to Wantage and I was in heaven.

Just enough power to be fun - not too much to be fatal

Favourite Car - Bobbin Threadbare

The one I have now - my MX-5. It's been nice enough weather to have the roof down today!

Favourite Car - RT

All my cars were chosen carefully depending on my needs and resources at the time, both of which have varied over time, so it's like comparing apples and pears.

However, on the basis of getting rid which car did I regret most then it's a '85 Cavalier SRi saloon - hammered hard for 90,000 miles on company petrol but still solid - I guess I learnt to predict the inevitable understeer which was substantial.

My favourite car is whatever I am driving.
