What size engine? is it petrol or diesel?

The age of the car is important too, belts are generally changed at a certain mileage or age.

My Ford Fiesta has been off the road for a while. I tried to start it (after recharging the battery) and something clicks a few times near the glove box and the immobiliser flashes very rapidly and you get an EAC failure alarm in the clock LCD. Is there anyway to override this?
Any help very much appreciated! Read more

Just bought 1 year old car from main dealer. It has 2 years remaining warranty.

I understand your sentiments as I had to 'bite the bullet' for a £200 oil change when I'd bought a 2-year-old and had it MOT'd and serviced just before its third birthday.

I did get a couple of new headlamp assemblies fitted FOC under a 'not quite a recall' that would've cost much more if they'd failed subsequently (as many did).

Sure sign the head gasget has gone,

Well, even if it is, you've given a very comprehensive and useful answer which anyone thinking about DPF removal should read.

I think that newer cars - and certainly the VAG common-rail diesels - have improved DPFs which regenerate when necessary and are much less inclined to clog up and require a visit to a dealer.

I originally thought that the noise that the vehicle was making came from the glove box.

The vehicle has been back to the main dealer 3 times but as yet unresolved.... Read more

The towbar hides the rear number plate located below the rear door. To the left of the spare wheel there is a plastic plate, can this plate be unclipped and a square type number plate fitted? I asked at our local Honda garage and they didn't know!

Many thanks. Have you or do you know of anybody who has done it, when I asked the Service Manager at our local Main Honda dealer he didn't know.
