Thank you ... Read more
You can do a simple test by placing a thermometer in front of the face vent ,run engine with a/c switched on and check temp after a few minutes .Depending on ambient temp ,vent temp should be between 5 and 10 C .A proper test involves test gauges to check running pressures of under bonnet system.hth
Although the announcement was made some time ago, with the launch of its 2013 price list, Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz has technically stopped producing its super-luxurious Maybach collection. Are you in the market to buy or sell a new or used SUV? If this seems like you, learn more on our websites at Gus Johnson Ford. Want to know find out more about Gus Johnson Ford? Take a look here!
Nobody seemed to want Maybach
There are a lot of reasons why Daimler AG would get rid of the collection, but the biggest reason is most likely that the car sales have been slow. The peak of sales was in 2004 when the business sold 224 sedans. Only 99 were sold last year in the States after a $100,000 rebate was being offered. Prices of the Maybach range from $376,000 to $1,380,000.

Maybach will be selling off its remaining 2012 models, probably at substantial discounts, but that will be the end of the collection, which was itself a revival of one kaput in the World War II era.
Revived many times
In the 1990s, all three major German automakers decided to create super-luxury lines, using respected names from the past. Volkswagen revived the Bentley, BMW acquired Rolls-Royce, and Mercedes took on the even more-distant Maybach collection. However, the limo-like super-luxury sedans never took off for any car maker in a way that was hoped for.

Options with Maybach
You can get a 5.5 liter V12 in the Maybach collection with 543 horsepower if you opt for the Maybach Type 57 or the Maybach Type 62. Both cars come with this motor. The Maybach Landulet gets 620 horsepower though with its 6.0 liter V12. All of these cars will be gone soon.
A brand new competition, sort of
The 600S Pullman is another car from the past that Daimler is going to be adding to the collection though, according to AOL Autos. It will join the S series to be able to compete with Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Daimler will not stop providing the courtesy of brand new cars to customers. All types of engines are supposedly going to be accessible with the new Pullman.
In 1963, the Mercedes-Benz 600 was launched as luxury vehicles. There was the Pullman, which was a long wheel-based version of that model.

Well I never just as I was going to order half a dozen.
Well that makes your assertion that cars are only designed to last seven years look a bit daft then doesn't it. Read more
Indeed it does. My car is 13 and still runs brilliantly. Passed the last MOT with no advisories. The bodywork is better than most five year old cars. Honest John has an irrational fear and loathing of anything over about five years.
Drove a basic manual one the other day as a courtesy car, superb little thing, far more 'big car feel' than the new Panda and better value than the VW. Think I'd have the Ecomotive though, unless a diesel is coming. Read more
Our C3 Picasso VTR+ has recently come up with the following waring display;
Anti Pollution Fault. The first time it appeared there was no problems and re-set itself. However, the same message came up today and the car seemed to lose all power. After a f 15 minute stop all seemed okay but engine management warning light stayed on. After about 5 hours the warning light reset itself. Has any one eles experineced this fault, and what is the cause/cure etc. Read more

The local Volvo dealer wants £200 to identify a problem relating to the anti-skid warning, my local registered techniical expert has done this for £30 and said it was a small pump in the ABS system. The local expert seemed to have the necessary equipment thoough the dealer said that their equipment was exclusive to them. Anyone have experience of this situation? Read more
I had this message, don't know if it will be the same error code, but I just changed the brake fluid (DOT 5.1) and the car corted it'self out.
If you can do this yourself or get a cheap quote it might be an option....
I recently took my car for a service to local main ford dealer I explained I had a problem with the front brakes the n/s seemed to be binding.
I collected the car and was told the fault was due to brake dust, the problem never improved and when I checked on the internet sticking calipers seems to be a common problem.... Read more
It's the usual main dealer in a huge glass palace on a busy road with expensive overheads problem. The manufacturer demands that the dealership has prestige premises(to keep up with the other manufacturers) usually in an expensive location, lease, business rates etc. To keep their overheads down and profits up they employ kids in the workshop who have been to the local technical college and who have handfulls of certificates and not much experience or knowledge except at plugging in a laptop or code reader and saying "There aren't any fault codes-Doh, what do I do now?" Any experienced technician with a brain has got fed up changing oils and filters and left long ago to set up on their own or work for an independant garage.
The manufacturers are as much to blame as the dealers because they don't seem to want service dealers, who maybe have a decent workshop in an out of the way location, lots of knowledge and experience but who don't want to sell new cars.
Hi All - I have started encountering a problem with my 2003 Mondeo 2.0 tdci in that occasionally the motor cuts out when I am driving. If I switch off the key and re-start the car it runs perfectly well - sometimes for days, other times for a few minutes. I noticed that when it cuts out al the dash warning lights come on, the speedo goes to 0 MPH and the rev counter goes to 2500 RPM. Although I tow a small caravan and this problem occurred twice within 10 minutes, the car has also cut out when being driven solo. HELP!
Thanks,... Read more
