Yeah, don't normally go any further south than Jct 26 of the M6 but we did use the toll route on Thursday evening to skip the worst.

I agree. I think Fredfree has had all the advice he's going to get from here, sadly not all of it as constructive as it might have been. He admitted he was the author of his own misfortune, but it seems peculiarly pointless to kick a man when he's down.

I have a 2006 A class with manual air con. Lately, for short periods of time, I cannot get any airflow in the cabin. It makes no difference whether the air conditioning compressor is on or off or the position of the air distribution dial.
The fan continues to work and I can hear the re circ flap changing position too, however, all air flow to the cabin is lost and only returns very gradually after setting the fan to its fastest setting and the vents to face level. Very slowly, airflow returns.
Is there a resistor for a sealing flap that could be jammed? Cabin filter is ok I think. Thanks for any assistance folks. Read more

I would definitely check the cabin filter first.Any blockage here will seriously reduce air flow. There is no sealing flap on these. There is a fan speed resistor located in the heater housing on the right side of centre console,by drivers left leg,but usually when these fail, the first 3 speeds of fan control are lost.hth

Bought car from Motorpoint, never had a problem. Yes it was an import and it came with a German service book and yes it did only have a 2 year warranty BUT it was a propper 2 years manufacturers not 1 year manufacturers and a joke 2 year dealers like UK cars. When it went for first service dealer replaced service book with UK one. Never had to claim under warranty. kept it 6 years and dealers were not in the least bit bothered it was an import (only appeared relieved it was not a Renault) but sold it privately for good money.

Saved approx £3000 over deal being offered by local dealer on identical car and got it in 2 weeks not 4 months....

Got caught by Parking Eye staying in their carpark for 35 mins over the time I had paid for, fair cop. But £150 (reduced to £75) for 35 mins is scandalous. Drivers be warned. I have paid the £75 but will never go to Southampton again.
