Any help on this one would be greatly received!
I am a mum of 2 (one two year old and a new born) and I need to purchase a car. I have a budget of £5000 and so far have only found two cars that seem to fit the criteria of being able to fit 2 car seats in the back with space between them and also have a large enough boot to haul around all the bits I need - mainly the double buggy, that fall within my price range - although today I was offered a Zafira with only 30,000 on the clock for £5,000 (1.6 petrol on 54 plate)... I have had a 2006 (56) Kia Carens for just over a year, it is worth considering the latest model, post November 2006 as you will have the remainder of the manufacturers 5 year warranty (extended to 7 years for 2010 registered vehicles). I have found that Kia service from my local dealer is second to none. I have had 3 problems, a broken catch on the central storage box (replaced under warranty), screen washers stopped working (filter cleaned and replaced under warranty even though it was now over 3 years old, how many other manufacturers would regard this as a warranty job and not a service item) and recently a faulty EGR valve (again replaced under warranty along with a diesel particulate and throttle response upgrade carried out). I do around 12,000 miles p.a. and tow a caravan and the automatic Carens is a real dream to drive, the foot operated parking brake is not an issue with the auto box. It is also very economical for a large vehicle and is very well equipped (I have the LS version). If you can afford it a carens with some warranty remaining could be a star buy.
For all those who thought an in car camera was overkill & paranoia I have just had an excellent result!
Driving thorugh a town late at night some holigan thought it would be an excellent idea to try running at my wifes car & kung-fu kick the doorswhilst i was driving ( 20mph) ! fortunatley for me he caught his toes in the drivers door handle which slammed him down in the road & injured his ankle! but i didn't stop as I felt it unsafe to do so !... I think they are wonderful, after one accident and a couple of near misses - one where someone deliberately cut me up and braked hard - I had a rear and forward cameras fitted. Works great, haven't had a incident since.
How would one go about altering a video to fool expert scrutiny? If you examine an edited video frame by frame you will clearly see added or taken away frames.
Any video should be date and time stamped and it be quite some job altering every frame
Does any one know if it's possible to reprogram a second hand 2 button key for an 05 colt - I've still got one key but could do with a spare. Thanks Brendan Read more

After a decent run the car sometimes makes a ticking noise that sounds as though it comes from the far right hand side of the dashboard. It can be heard quite plainly with the engine idling.
Having pulled the panel off which covers the diagnostic point there doesn't seem to be anything there that could make the noise and it sounds as though it is coming from further forward.... Read more
My 1.6 petrol 307 definitely allows this valve to operate at idle after being driven around. Not noticed it particularly if the engine is allowed to warm up whilst at idle. Does this mean there is a fault? MIL is out.
I Have a veneer dining table that needs cleaning. I remember the shop saying that we should not use polish on it, but do you know if I can use Bees Wax on it. Read more
Cleaning a wooden dining table needs an entirely different approach from cleaning a glass one. You can clean it with a wood cleaner or a wood conditioner using a clean cloth. Doing it twice a year will help your dining table retain its glossy finish for long. The use of wood conditioner should be limited to twice a year, while it is important to dust the dining table once a week.
Hi,
Have found that my key fob neither opens or locks my car now. Its been on the decline for a little while being a bit temperamental and also affecting the immobiliser too. Doors lock/unlock with the key and car starts fine but can immobilise if I do not start the car but just open it retrieve something then lock up.... Read more

A chap at work has a light come on, on his dash, which is a picture of a car with a spanner on it. It came on after a servcie. I thought it was a "Oil service due" light but apparently not, according to the Vauxhall technician. I put a diagnostic reader on and it showed a C1555 code (with no description) as being stored twice and active twice. Anyone know what the light is and what the code represents ? Read more
when its sorted can you post the fix pls,TB
Houtbai,
I, for one, being a thrifty farmers Son, with a real daft fondness for 6 cylinder diesels, am "blown away" by your very sensible conversion, being not unlike some of the "re-engining" petrol-to-diesel projects on "G" Wagens, in its complexity....
