Does any one know if it's possible to reprogram a second hand 2 button key for an 05 colt - I've still got one key but could do with a spare. Thanks Brendan Read more

It would be unusual for an ovp relay to fail after 2 years. Was this a genuine MB part? Also has the car been fitted with an alarm system, either MB approved or other,as sometimes the immobiliser circuit can interrupt the fuel pump relay.I would only replace the relay with a new genuine MB part.As for the speedo needle,I am not sure why it should jerk as it is a completely mechanical item driven by an old fashioned cable with no electrical connection at all.hth
Hello,...
After a decent run the car sometimes makes a ticking noise that sounds as though it comes from the far right hand side of the dashboard. It can be heard quite plainly with the engine idling.
Having pulled the panel off which covers the diagnostic point there doesn't seem to be anything there that could make the noise and it sounds as though it is coming from further forward.... Read more
My 1.6 petrol 307 definitely allows this valve to operate at idle after being driven around. Not noticed it particularly if the engine is allowed to warm up whilst at idle. Does this mean there is a fault? MIL is out.
I Have a veneer dining table that needs cleaning. I remember the shop saying that we should not use polish on it, but do you know if I can use Bees Wax on it. Read more
Cleaning a wooden dining table needs an entirely different approach from cleaning a glass one. You can clean it with a wood cleaner or a wood conditioner using a clean cloth. Doing it twice a year will help your dining table retain its glossy finish for long. The use of wood conditioner should be limited to twice a year, while it is important to dust the dining table once a week.
Hi,

Doors lock/unlock with the key and car starts fine but can immobilise if I do not start the car but just open it retrieve something then lock up.... Read more

A chap at work has a light come on, on his dash, which is a picture of a car with a spanner on it. It came on after a servcie. I thought it was a "Oil service due" light but apparently not, according to the Vauxhall technician. I put a diagnostic reader on and it showed a C1555 code (with no description) as being stored twice and active twice. Anyone know what the light is and what the code represents ? Read more
when its sorted can you post the fix pls,TB
I have had this problem for many years. The engine radiator fan runs continuously and someone told me that it is controlled directly from the ECU. If this is true its not worth replacing the ECU to drive is a more silent enviroment!!
Can anyone help me abt this problem or maybe someone experienced it before?... Read more

Having got bored with my old Nikon compact digital camera, I am inclined to treat myself to a digital SLR for no more than £400.
Does anyone have real practical experience of anything which falls within the price range?... Read more
Do consider the micro 2/3rds cameras from Panasonic. I'd like one I think (the G2 is imminent) but they are not cheap and the lenses will be a lot more expensive. Probably outside your budget.
Ever since sunday just gone my 2001 (51) Laguna II 1.9 dCI 120bhp 8v has started making a whistling sound. The sound seems to be coming from the offside front of the engine bay. It has only started since I took the alternator belt off to change it but turned out the one I'd been given was too small! So on went the old belt but I put it on the opposite way to before. I did disconnect the fuel line to the fuel pump, and bled everyting before starting. Could this be causing it? Earlier on sunday I did an oil change, and no differently to the many times before, so I cannot see why this would have caused any problem. I have checked all the piped leading to and from the turbo, but all seem fine with no splits. The sound only gets noticable whilst accelerating at around 3000rpm and not any higher than about 50mph. Any ideas? Read more
Hey Rossinatrench,
Im not up on engines and such, but I have a 2002 Laguna 1.9 dci and I had a whistle noise coming from it too.. It would get higher in pitch when I accelerated and disappear when I put in the clutch, bottom line is after about 2 months of this my Turbo now needs replacing. apparently there was oil going back into the turbo? ...
2006 Suzuki Alto
I've just carried out a full service, and the only thing i cant find is the fuel filter. Does the car even have one?... Read more
I don't know for definite if your Alto has a fuel filter, but, as it's a 2006, I am willing to bet it has something similar to my Jimny, (2005). This has the high pressure pump for the fuel injectors in the tank, there is a filter on this pump which has to be changed every 126,000 miles, according to the service schedule in the handbook. So no great rush then!
