Hi, I have just discover a leak situated really in the back place, right below the window wipers. To access and see the leaking part is somehow impossible to me but it have to be done. Is there any literature to advice you what to dismantle first, and second and so fort...

The Garage man told me that the leak is coming not from the rubber hose but from the distributor to which the hoses are connected. I would like to order the piece right away but how can I if I don't have a schema....... is there any place to look at the drawings and see the number of the part or parts around at the that part of the engine. ... most likely to be the diverter valve at the rear of the head's common enough fault, if the vac pipe that go's to it is removed and the pipe pluged the leak stops, temp repair only though, to gain access you need to remove the wiper motor and linkage and scuttle trim (not to bad a job but then i know what to do)then you should be able to see the offending article, main dealer only part i would have thought and they should know what you are talking about but strip it and check it before you buy a new one just incase its a pipe, Regards TB ps tell the french garages that its an opel that should get them helping you

I was rummaging around in the engine bay of my Pug diesel last night just checking it over visually, when I spotted a black cable on the right hand side of the car (passenger side when standing in front of it). The cable was thicker than a single wire and on the end is a clip on connector. I followed the cable which was almost tucked under the battery box. It then merged with some more cabling which in turn disappears into the front wing.

I could find no obvious place where it could reach and plug in to. The car doesn't appear to be suffering as a result so could it be where a diagnostic machine could be plugged into?... Read more

My MX-5 has several of these. I reckon they must be for higher spec cars with Air Con, spot lights etc which my lower spec car doesn't have. It also has a diagnostic connector, but this is a small lidded box which is bolted down.

I have a Citroen version 1.9 d Van and just had a clutch fitted , it now vibrated like mad and the clutch judders . The garage replaced the clutch again and now it no longer judders but it feels like the engine is bolted solidly to the body so all the vibs of the engine come through to the van . The dealer has had it back for a few days and admitted they cant see why its doing it !

In order to ensure the stiffest sentence and to bring the circumstances of the case to the court's attention it is very likely that both charges would be prosecuted....

Howdy all! Very briefly, I'm looking for an economical/reliable car to take me about 100 miles up and down a motorway twice a week and a little bit of running around in town.

My budget is up to 3-4k. I like the look and have heard good things about the 1.3l Yaris and have seen some nice models from around 2005 with fairly low mileages.... Read more

I have a Yaris diesel. I keep tyres at the pressures recommended for full load: this appears to minimise side wind impacts..

With the election looming I am surprised that the issue of motoring is not coming up at all.

With fuel going up daily, road tax over £400 on some cars and increasing number of road calming measures and red lights I have watched various local debates, lisened to the poloticians and lisnened to the news and the subject never comes up to my surprise!... Read more

The thing about the Prius that really puzzels me is that it is said to produce much less emmisions than a non hybrid car. But, if a Prius is driven in a similar manner to a similar car with a similar load it will produce a similar fuel consumption. If it murns the same amount of fuel how can it produce less emmisions? The fact that it may run on the battery some of the time in stop start driveing only displaces the emmsions. The chemistry of burning the fuel is the same.

All I can think of is the the emmisions test themselves are a load of rubbish and the marketing guys at Toyota have seen a nice niche .

Has anyone got any figures for what the temperature should be just inside the centre air vents with the aircon on and on max. chill. I measured mine with the car stationary, with the engine revs at about 1500-1800 rpm and with the fan speed on, say, 2 and a digital thermometer with the probe about an inch or so inside the vent.
The minimum temperature reached was ~ 4c with the outside temp. 22c but of course the accuracy of the thermometer is only +/- 1c.
I sometimes imagine that the system was much colder late last summer (took delivery in late July 2009) but I have only got the Climatic aircon system not the one where you can set you temp. for each side of the cabin.
Obviously in the UK we don't suffer extremes of temp. not usually anyway but can get temps in the middle 30s sometimes (mercifully not for long). Read more

I have to confess I read it as minus too - a classic example of the eye seeing what it thinks is there, not necessarily what actually is. Sorry - now I look at it it's perfectkly clear: ~

Even that (about 40 proper degrees) seems uncomfortably cold - you wouldn't want that as ambient temperatuire even on a hot day. I've had several VAG cars and even the 'low' setting, which has the fan full on, is never less than comfortable....

Hi,

Has anyone fitted an aftermarket (TOP) central locking kit to a fiesta? I have purchased the kit and the instructions ask for the trigger Negative, Positive or Positive Negative. This has bamboozled me already just by reading the instructions!... Read more
