The DVSA May be concerned but until the police start ticketing drivers on a regular basis and impounding the vehicle until it is repaired it will not stop. There is no excuse now as most cars have bulb failure warning lights. Read more
Hi all
I bought an 03 plate hiace minibus that was owned by a council for ferrying disabled people about. It had the ramp etc.
I have removed the ramp and winch.
There are three up front in these and this one also had two fixed (bolted) in the back. It also had two seats using the unwin tracks. So seven in total. On the log book it states 4 seats. I’m guessing that’ll be two up front and two bolted in the back....
How does the dvla define what counts as a seat for the log book? It’s definitely three up front.
Anyway. I’ve removed the ones in the back (day van bed van purposes) and we use the three up front - driver, passenger and in the middle my child using a retro fitted harness in replace of the lap belt.
We can still fit in two (bought separately) pairs of seats in the back using the tracking system should we need to.
My main question is this - what do I tell the dvla for the log book. 3 seats or 7?
All help appreciated. Thanks. Read more
No doubt DVLA will have a category for it...van with windows.?...I would think the important part is making your insurance company aware.

My dad nearly bought an 800 demonstrator back in late 1988, had the test drive, liked the car & trade in value for his SD1. Checking the 800 over before going to do a deal he noticed some damage to the 800 front bumper lower lip the salesman refused to repair - wanted £200 extra OR reduce trade in value by £200 to cover it.
My dad walked away, went & saw his mate up the Peugeot dealer & done a deal on there 405 demonstrator instead....
Had earlier posted about a forthcoming trip from Colchester to Edinburgh.

I hadn't realised you were so wealthy that you could afford to buy a rail ticket for that journey. It can be cheaper to fly, and many rail company bosses take the plane rather than rail:
I have a mark 7 golf, does the car have a valve where one could drian the coolant?

Hi everyone I have a corsa and I think the dmf is knackered . Gear changes are a bit notchy and it won't go into reverse without crunching Also if you have it in first gear with the clutch pedal pressed and you rev it it will slightly start to pull forward .. Like the clutch isn't disengaging It also has some vibration when driving and also when it's in neutral The vibration varies with the revs I just want some confirmation it's definately the flywheel??
Is it a big job to do myself.? The car is only 300 quid and it's a run about so thinking of throwing a second hand one in. Any special tools or anything specific I need to do. Thanks Read more
No point in fitting a second hand clutch/flywheel assy, it could be worse than the one you already have . Book time for this job is around 4 hours or less . Depends if you have the correct tools and no grief getting things apart. m.youtube.com/watch?v=jDmYUChrzL0
Hi,
I’ve just bought the above vehicle and there is a weird step at the end of the clutch pedal travel.
The car has stop/start and only covered 3000 miles.
Does anybody know if there is a return spring modification kit, or any ideas. It’s almost like there is a really high tensioned spring on the pedal which causes moving of tricky.
Thanks in advance for the help. Read more

If its a 2019 car its under Ford warranty, take it back to where you bought it!
I regularly see idiots with bright LED DRL's lighting their way at the front who do not know they have no lights showing at the rear unless they turn them on.
Just a matter of time before someone wakes them up by running into them.
Another bright idea introduced by EU officialdom.
