Has HJ started a real mpg page for battery cars yet. Perhaps he could start with the new Tesla 3 which according to Whatcar is some 27% shy of Tesla figures in the real world ie some 90miles out of a claimed 329. Similar figures are for Hyundai and Audi and the rest. These figures are more of a joke then the fossil fuel ones. I won't be buying one any time soon or the hybrids the range or the prices just do not make sense Who wants 2 engines as with the hybrids and when they add the combined BHP together as a marketing tool well who are they trying to convince? Just wondered how common is aquaplaning these days? I happened to be driving a 107 in the rain last weekend and noticed it very briefly on 2 occasions. Tyres are top quality and in excellent condition. This was something that I had completely forgotten about but looking at the width and profile of tyres on a lot of cars it was got me wondering.

If there are no external breather pipes on this one, then the engine breather is likely to be part of the plastic cam box cover.

After some advice after an unfortunate change of circumstance if any one can help!
I am the the very happy owner of a 15 plate seat Alhambra i-tec and love the space, performance, versatility and practicality of it, we got the car on hire purchase (£303 p/m) in January.
Unfortunately my wife has suffered a nervous breakdown and is taking a career break until her mental health improves and I need to change the car, ideally for the same model.
I would be more than happy with a higher mileage early model (2010/2011) for around £150-200 p/m however I know dealerships generally only keep car which are up to 5 years old or less than 50,000 miles in stock. Can anyone point me in the direction of approved used models and advise as to how the process would go for someone in my circumstances?

Before going any further you need to get an early settlement figure from your finance company. Depending on how much deposit you put into the deal you may we’ll be in negative equity and will require money to pay this off along with funding a deposit on the replacement.
You’ll find that dealers tend to take advantage of people who are downgrading with low valuations on your own car. It’s likely you’ll be hit quite hard but again the first step is to get a settlement figure then get valuations from dealers and car buying services to see if this is viable.
The cheapest way to find any used car beyond your own savings is via a low cost bank loan. Dealer finance is never competitive and assuming you’re able to get rid of the old car I’d take a bank loan for the replacement. It’ll save you money.

You can get a new primer bulb on Ebay all cars for under £3.I would replace anyway because of age.

REMOTE IS BAD
It was locked with the remote before remote stopped fuctioning
I can't get security alarm off, once the ignition is turned on the alarm goes on, and the security light stays solid,
I can't get to program a new remote into car cause it won't go into programming mode as alarm is going off,
Anyone knows how I can shut the alarm off or disable it ?
OR
Any other ideas on solving this

There is no simple way way to 'switch off' or disconnect the alarm, you will need the services of a good auto electrician.

I have the above car which has leather seats. My problem is with the rear seat, where the base (the bit you sit on) has lifted from it's mounting creating a gap. This is at the end nearest to the nearside door. I have tried securing it down again, but there is nothing it appears for it to clip down into. Can anyone help??... Read more

What would you guys say is the best way to get a "sticker" off the back bumper of a Cooper S ?? I definately would call it a sticker rather than a decal. Its a rectangular union flag not that it matters as such.

The biggest travesty of the low BIK is that generally it will only benefit well paid people who have remuneration that includes a £70K+ priced car. It's not going to help any "normal" salaried co. car driver.
