Hope you can help.
Ford Mondeo 2008 petrol cranks but won’t start.
I did replace the fuel pump in March and it failed in two weeks so upon complaining Halfords replaced it and found it to be faulty.
I went away for Easter break and since my return I did 200 miles and the same problem has come up and the Green flag technician thinks it’s fuel pump again.
Could there be any other issue that I should check before as Halfords have refused to investigate again.

Very likely that the fuel pump is not at fault. What often happens on these , is that the connector pins on top of the pump overheat and result in a poor contact. Ford supply a replacement extension wiring link for around £40.
Presumably you pay a pre-determined, non-negotiable price. Not sure I’d want to miss out on the charade of negotiating a deal face to face with all the sparring and play-acting that goes with it. Read more

Hi, no I had looked there and it didnt give me the the four letter engine code I need just the fact it is BA7. Bit not the engine code. Some one has just told to look on V5 log book and it is under variant with in the 6 digit code.

Anybody had any problems with Lion batteries from euro carparts? Had mine for less than a year and it's exploded, they wont take back as they say alternator caused the fault so not covered under warranty. Read more
Lion Batteries are absolute garbage. I bet there is nothing wrong with the alternator and Euro Car Parts are just trying to fob you off.

Plenty of "luxury premium" Germans again.
Why such low Total Mileages in all the examples?
Anybody who buys a car for such a low mileage should take cabs instead. I bet the excess mileage rates are also extortionate.

Presume these are meant as second cars, we bought a new BMW X3 last June, wont expect it to have above 10,000 miles after three years
Had a interesting discussion at the weekend ref number plates and the two plate changes in a year. There was a debate about what looks newer a 18 reg or 68reg , my 11 year old son said the 18 plate because its obviously 2018 but he thought the 68 could be later 2008 or later 2018 he was unsure!! My wife says she doesn’t get the September numbers so the 18 looks best to her. My 86 year old father said no idea its just numbers... I do understand the format it but its made me wonder how many other people don't? Anyone fancy asking a few different age people and them writing back?
Also does it make a difference when selling? Does one format hold value better or is it irrelevant?

In some cantons of Switzerland, number plates are fixed to the car with a locking mechanism and can be switched between the owner's cars since, logically, the insured owner can only drive one car at a time.
Conversely, in Greece the police actually remove number plates of cars parked illegally or with unpaid fines accrued and the owner has to get to the police station and pay up. Obviously, driving without number plates is instant jail time!

Re Total wiper-out, Not really a problem with Fords (and some VWs), the heated windscreen has cleared the ice / snow before the wipers wipe.
