In need of a ~£1500 city car. Must be petrol, have a few creature comforts, A/C is a must, cruise control would be icing on the cake. Needs to be fun to drive return high 30's in town and motorway capable (sub 11sec to 60 ideally)

"I'm stuck for wanting something sensible but also wanting something a bit oddball."

The Yaris I suggested above veers very much towards the first of those virtues, although the 1.3 is lively and well wlorth a look. The same goes for the Mazda 2, also an excellent car as long as you go for a petrol....

Sounds like you need to contact TfL to get them to correct their mistake. I suppose I was daft enough to assume that TfL used the same database for both checks and just changed the criteria for the new one, given that's what everyone else would do. So typical of a bureaucratic organisation.

Hope someone can offer some advice to at least calm me down. Around three weeks ago I was got out of bed around 11pm to allow a police officer to look at my car. 2 weeks earlier a Volvo had reversed into another car while the owner was away from it and a shop keeper had MISTAKENLY given my registration. The police were satisfied it was nothing to do with me, my car isn't a Volvo. They have subsequently looked at CCTV, found the driver who has admitted it and I was told to forget it. This week my insurance email me to say my insurance is about to be voided because I didn't report an accident to them. It also included the fact the man ho owns the bumped car has lodged a personal injury claim against me. Making note he wasn't near his car at the time it was bumped!

Pure laziness on their part IMHO.

Absolutely spot-on. In my own experience (from 2009), they show little concern for fighting your case when you have been involved in a no-fault claim too?...

Hi guys,

So basically I’ve just picked up my Astra from the garage.
I brought the car in August and it has since had the gearbox rebuilt.
On my way to work this morning, the car with spanner light came on, and I’ve done the pedal test to find the fault code which is ECN 018007.
According to a code reader this is a fault with the fuel temperature sensor so I’m just wondering if this is something they’ve done, is it possible that they have knocked something whilst working on the gearbox and how serious is the problem?

Many thanks Read more

1sy off the pedal test is unreliable it needs code read with Vaux TECH.

but something could have been disturbed so take it back and get them to read it and repair it.

Thank you very much for that. I've suggested some of these to him too. Hopefully he gets the right one for him.
