My Ford Focus has a strange problem where a loud klunk noise comes from the engine bay 15-20 seconds after coming to a stop. The klunk can be felt through the pedals. I have made a couple of videos, links below, of the klunk from inside and outside the car. I get strange looks from other road users and am concerned the problem will affect my ability to sell the car. It is still under warranty but so far Ford have not worked out the cause.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what is causing this noise and/or have some advice on how to proceed with Ford?
Many thanks in advance.,
Kind regards,

There shouldn't be any "opinions" about whether additives work. There should be scientifically verifiable information to establish whether specific additives have any effect and if so, what exactly that is.
In the absence of such evidence, relying on these substances to produce any beneficial effect is an act of blind faith reminiscent of superstition....
I'm considering buying a Honda Civic petrol 1.0 VTEC Turbo SR Manual and was contemplating a nearly new 67 plate with 2100 miles for £17,500 at Arnold Clark

However I just checked out drivethedeal.com (as well as car wow) and got a quote for a brand new car including optional metallic paint choice (with obviously longer warranty and save £140 on 1st year road tax) for £19,300. That's £1,700 more for a brand new one when you factor in the road tax saving.
Is this the best value deal I'm likely to get for a 67 or 18 new/nearly new Honda Civic in this model and SR trim? I'm a cash buyer.
Is there something I'm possibly overlooking with this drivethedeal.com in the way of hidden fees etc?
I live in Glasgow so I know they can charge extra for delivery to Scotland, but hopefully that wont be too much?
Anyone have experience of using drivethedeal.com and can advise on anything to watch out for?

I phoned Broadspeed today about the £17.4k figure I mentioned they quoted in the OP.
Apparently they can't sell me one at that price as they have none available. The civic won't be available until October (post-new WLTP regulations compliance) and the price will be significantly higher then.
UNLESS I phone my local dealer to see if they have any available and then they can maybe do something for me. I wasn't expecting to have to put in the leg work for the broker even at apparently available low prices.
Does this sound a bit suspicious or is this normal practice?

Just scrolled through this Top Ten on the homepage. Full of VW, Ford, VX, etc and not one Japanese car listed.
I assume the underlying methodology is based on claims made. Cars without claims therefore are excluded and cars with infrequent but larger costs are judged "unreliable". Meanwhile those that breakdown more frequently, but are cheap to repair, are judged "reliable".
Thats not how I would judge reliability. Breakdowns over a year or per 10k miles are surely better measures. Cost of repair is important but its its not in itself a measure of reliability.

I assume we can believe the story given that it is in the Daily Wail? It does make sense though it will hit the poorest hardest, as they have the oldest cars. Perhaps it will curb the enthusiasm for huge vehicles. But to be really effective this has to spread to other cities, and hence influence car makers to do even more to reduce pollution, given that the emission zone regs will no doubt get tighter with time.A quick check woud have shown it is the other papers.
The DN version was good as it shows a large map of the area, for those who don't live in it....
I purchased the used van in January, less than 3 months later (it has 3 months warranty) the gear box developed an issue, vehicle was returned to dealer and a loan van was given..
6 weeks later and after they tried to get Vauxhall’s to help with the new gear box, I was told they are looking to buy the vehicle back from me, then one week later they have fixed it!
All good I though, so I asked where the gear box came from, the response was “another vehicle” I asked what was age and mileage of the gearbox, I was told “less than you had on yours” I asked where is came from, “another vehicle” they said, I asked them for details on the other vehicle and mileage, they won’t give these details, I asked them why they would go to all the bother of swapping to gearbox’s to fix mine when they could have just put a new one in, this was cheaper was the answer!
I asked them to confirm details and mileage of the doner van or I would like my money back, this was met with “vehicle has been fixed to a satisfactory condition, you can’t have your money back”
I doubt very much that the repalcement gearbox is newer and less miles hence the reluctance to let me know details of it.

“Mileage was confirmed as higher than original gear box, and they have agreed to refund me and take the van back!”
Well fought and good on the dealer for backing down. This case shows how important it is to stick to your guns. Any half decent dealer who is concerned with their reputation will usually offer a compromise and buying the vehicle back is the most sensible option. The secondhand engine and gearbox market is full of rogues and cheats with many so called low mileage used motors actually coming from high mileage end of life vehicles.
Well you live and learn - good job it's sorted, I found this video showing how they work.
