Recently my keyless entry [when opening by holding the handle], has stopped working [aware of not covering the sensor], opening at a distance with the key works, also entering the emergency key opens all doors even though the key is partly entered into the lock. Grateful for any input thanks. Read more
I was clocked for speeding but there was another vehicle between myself and the patrol car. I'm sure with the state of th art cameras this is possible once your in view say on a bend, but is this correct police procedure? Read more
Surprised to see a Mobile speed camera operating at 2045 hrs

I've had to do some fairly minor repair work on the Rear Parking Sensor System on my own car recently after someone kindly went into the back of me!
The system fitted to my car is manufactured by XVision:...
The light first came on 6 months ago. At first it was intermittent but eventual stayed on permanently.
My local garage checked all the wires and found no fault.... Read more

Buying an Aygo. Ex-Demo late 2017 from a national main dealer. The buying experiance had been awful but the price was good. Paying cash.
Had arranged to pick it up on Monday. Dealer says we can't do it now as we havn't got the insurance sorted and their admin team won't be there until Tuesday next week now and I can't get there until the following week. ... Read more

After hearing some good and some bad reports about selling to Evans Halshaw I can actually report a positive result.
3 years ago we tried them, they offered a generous £2600 for the Micra but a few days before the car was delivered they rang to say that the market had slumped and they would have to revise the price down to £1700. It did not matter since we had already sold it privately for £2800. Very disapointed with them.... Read more
my friend also had a very good experience with Evans Halshaw, the process was exactly how you described.

After a wait of 9 weeks approx the Fabia is with us and very nice it is too. Excellent service from the dealer and Carfile.net (again). That is 3 cars via Carfile.net in the past 5 years and 2 from the Skoda dealer in 14 months.
Will update after living with it a few weeks.... Read more
If VAG's belt drive TSi proves a long term reliable engine, I coud be tempted, so far I haven't heard any undue engine-related issues apart from the odd oil burner.
The troublesome TSi was the chain cam one and the twin charged version was the one that had a huge appetite for oil in some cars. The current TSi's share no ancestry with that engine series other than the name. Yet to read about a troublesome one and its been on sale now for over 5 years. The 3 pot is a bit newer but I understand it shares many features....
hi, have a 2000 shogun pinin gdi from new with 180,000 miles on the clock which is now showing its age. struggled to get through an mot last few times due to emissions but thanks to some "help" from the garage managed to scrape through. Now though, new rules have meant its failed. Main problem is high co emissions. requirement is o.3 at fast idle, mine is about 0.8. Tried usual stuff, air filter, lambda sensor, new plugs but think theres a more fundamental problem. It runs perfectly well, idles smooth and mpg on the readout is 30+. keep reading thoiugh that the GDI engine is prone to carbon build up. Looked in the throttle body which actually seems pretty clean. can see some build up lower down, maybe 4 or 5 mm build up. would this build up throughout the whole inlet manifold cause the emissions failure given that its running perfectly.. Also if i do decide to remove the inlet manifold to de coke it, is it a reasonably straight forward job? looks pretty straight forward, just unboltin stuff then putting it back on, but are there any odd bear traps i should be aware of? many thanks, Mark. Thanks. Looking into that. A lot of people saying it does some good. Been quoted £130 to do mine so reckon I'll give it a go. I'll post the results on here.

MOVING ON FROM MY PROBLEM YESTERDAY, THIS MORNING I WAS ABLE TO OPEN THE CAR WITH THE REMOTE KEY. AFTER THAT EVERYTHING WAS DEAD NO IGNITION, NO RADIO, NO INTERIOR LIGHTING, THIS MADE ME THINK THAT THE MAIN BATTERY WAS FLAT. tHIS AFTERNOON I PUT THE BATTERY ON CHARGE BUT THE BATTERY WAS SO COMPLICATED TO TAKE OFF I LEFT IT ON THE CAR. LEAVING IT ON CHARGE AS LONG AS I CAN. ANY THOUGHTS'
