But will it age well? Every PSA car I have owned has fallen to bits once it gets over 5 years old. People know this & it kills the residuals.
I'd love to hear that has all changed now as it looks like a great car.... Read more
Except they no longer manufacture the model shown in the picture (the CooperS) and are also indeed stopping manufacture of the John Cooper Works. Leaving one with the option of the underpowered Cooper or the dirty Diesel. ?? Great shame, as the CooperS is superb - I’ve been driving mine for 2 years. Read more
Hey Guys,
So I own a Honda Accord 2001 4 door, 2.3 liter engine. My original tire size is*195/65R15 and original rim size is 6Jx15 ET55. The offset is 55 and Center bore is 64.1 with a bolt pattern of 4x114.3.
I found a rim for my winter tires.*Brand: Cragar*Manufacturer's Part Number:83-5641. The size is:*
Wheel Diameter: 15 in.
Wheel Width (in): 6.000 in.
Wheel Bolt Pattern (app): 4 x 100mm*
4 x 114.3mm*
4 x 4 1/2 in.
Backspacing (in): 5.125 in.
Offset: +41.00mm
Center Bore Diameter (mm): 72.00mm
Will this fit my tire?
I don't understand what you have written regarding the Cragars?. The stud pattern can't be 4x100 AND 4x114.3, it can only be one or the other. But as the centre bore of the Cragar is too big, you would only be able to safely fit it with an appropriate spacer (not sure if that is the correct term here?) to take up the 7.9mm difference. In my understanding (which could well be wrong) the protrusion on the hub assembly over which the centre bore fits snugly is what is supporting most of the weight, the wheel nuts or bolts simply secure the wheel against the hub. So, again, as far as i am aware, it is essential that the centre bore fits properly. There is also quite a big difference in the offset.
Because of how important wheel fitment and the contact patches between your car and the road is, i'd advise against getting these wheels. Better to get something that fits properly.
I have a new plate Fiesta Titanium on a pcp deal. When I was being talked through the controls at the showroom the Sat Nav had a pre set destination for an area hundreds of miles from where I live. The cap, where a computer can be connected to the digital system under the drivers seat, was hanging loose. Also there was scuffing to the bodywork just below the rear windscreen wipers. A friend of my son who has a body repair shop thinks they were made by trade plates and believes I may have taken delivery of an ex demonstrator. I can't prove anything but I don't think it would have left the factory with marks and unconnected bits. Am not sure what to do and would appreciate any opinions. I like the car but don't like the the idea of possibly being provided with what effectively might be a second hand car. Read more
Have you accepted the car already? If so, and the dealer didn't fix the damaged bodywork, then you'll have a hard time when the PCP deal ends. If you plan to make the balloon payment and keep the car then it doesn't matter, but if you want to change it or hand it back then you'll need to get the damage repaired.

Since retiring my mileage has dropped to 6k appx a year on a 2.1 diesel engine. Would you continue with the normal servicing routine or moderate it to take the lower mileage into account? I run it up the motorway once or twice a week for 15 miles or so it gets decent warm up time. Read more
It's an SLK 2012 250d, I regularly put the premium diesel in and have twice weekly motorway trips motorway trips. I get the oil and filter changed every 12 months, I'll have the coolant and brake fluid done too.
I'd say that makes perfect sense. ...

I simply tuck the cable in along the top of the windscreen, down the nearside door, underneath the passenger seat and into the armrest. I have to remember to manually connect and disconnect the cable for each journey as my 12V supply stays on after I switch the engine off, but that quickly becomes habitual.
No installation fee and easier to switch from one car to another.

I wonder how resilient the 60yr old rubber tracks might be. Any tyres still on the road at this age?
I checked the Real MPG for my Car and no fiqures were listed. I entred my Real MPG corrected for Trip Computor inaccuracy (its 5% over). The fiqure I entred was 45.86 mpg and then I checked the main Real mpg lsting and it was showing 43.4 mpg.
How come the differece since mine was the only Real mpg entred? Read more
I used the brim-to-brim method with my mpg figures submitted. The trip computer mpg is out by a very consistant 5%. My Fiesta ecoboost was out by 8%.
So should I have submitted the trip computer mpg instead of the corrected fiqure?...

How they can say the Mini Clubman is a great estate is beyond belief. We briefly looked at one and the space in the load area is at best similar to a conventional small hatch (especially if you want to carry a spare) and the rear seat space is tight at best with poor access.
There are some truly great estates for Mini Clubman money but the Mini is not one of them.
